So, I'm trying to gain magery off a golem with a poison wep, but I think I don't have the right type. Is a negative magery 100% poison wep good or does it also have to have uwbs skill on it?

Wow. Why do you fancy Golems so much?
Find a bow with -mage weapon and as high penalty as you can. Doesn't need SC or UBWS, not sure why you would think that? Then tame a Cu Sidhe and drop it off in a house. Then fire at it. Use HCI peices, the dog will heal through the dmg you do. Way faster than a stupid Golem. The bow will want to be at max SSI, thats all it will need.
