ive been playing more clockwork pets of late. im finding its a pretty interesting fit, especially for a bard/mage template. with only 1 extra skill, you get a pretty good pet boost in golems and vollems compared to the 3 skills needed for taming. i have read many posts about the issues with clockwork pets. mainly healing them. even the existing method is a bit odd as we have to keep the tinkering tool dialog open.
i had a thought of a tinker craftable golem repair kit that would create a targetable object we could then use to repair our clockwork pets. you would still need iron/bronze ingots to perform the repair. an exceptional tool could provide a boost to how much damage is repaired. damage repaired could be a calculation of tool quality and tinker skill. in addition, the higher the tinker skill the less the refresh time when you could heal again. this would encourage a higher tinker skill but still give JOAT and 0 tinkers a boost to healing when purchasing/using exceptional kits.
