Golden Plate Helm - but it's black/Shadow

Im a vet returning after a long absence and i feel like a rookie. I purchased an account, and I'm currently taking inventory of all its items. I found a black plate helm, but when I mouse over it it says it's a Golden Plate Helm.

Can armor be dyed or is this some sort of bugged item?

There are also lesser pigments of tokuno which remove the special colored dye from items.

Also there was a slime event. Slimes spawned in random locations and colors. Each slime could dye the armor a different color.

Only enhanced items and artifacts could be enhanced. Other items with base properties that are a different color can still be considered rare.
