Gold making?

So after coming back from a few years of UO "break time" and finally having my stolen account returned to me I am trying to find a way to make an income. My account is in great shape with TONS of stuff and some kick ass toons, one being a legendary imbuing/smithy/tailor. I plan to liquidate a lot of the items the account thief had but after that what do I do, besides scroll hunting or competing with scripters for mats to make an income? Is my mule viable for gold making? Should I suck it up and just do the scroll spawn stuff?

Well, first you gotta get lucky with the placement, since they put in that random timer after a house decays before you can put a new one up. I've seen some able to be placed after an hour, others I've waited 2 hours before you could place.

I'd say unless it falls into one of the following you are better off looting then selling and not bother placing.

1. Luna Houses - Though this might change after Magincia though I doubt it.
2. After Pub 70 goes live everywhere, Magincia houses might demand a premium, add them to your Area Checks after 90 days.
3. Keeps
4. Castles
5. Houses near PvP Hot Spots such as Yew Gate on many shards.

All of these houses will demand PREMIUM prices, and with the timer you have plenty of time to loot, store the goodies then come back to place. I prefer when I get on an IDOC kick to try and find multiple houses on the same day. I pick what looks like it might be the best, camp it, then bounce to the others. I've caught as many as 5 in one day and was present for the fall of each by doing that.

Yes and no, having one to make stuff for yourself is definitely a perk, always has been. But there is still a demand for good armor and weapons, though with imbuing that demand has shrunk considerably.

That mule is one of the better toons to IDOC with as well, throw magery on them for mobility, and since most Mules have high STR they can carry more, not to mention most mules have a couple of bonded pack animals for resource gathering as it is.

Glad for you that you got your account back but do you know for sure the person who was using the account was who stole your account? Ive heard before how people innocently bought an account from someone not knowing it was stolen only to have the original owner reclaim the account later leaving them high and dry. So your return was great for you with lots of stuff but could have been bad for the other guy. If it was a thief serves em right though. On a thread related note yes idocs are a great way to make gold. I started idocing shortly after a long hiatus and now probably have a billion gold or so worth of stuff.
