GOF Celebrates 11 years

On behalf of the Guild of Friends (GOF) I am very pleased to announce that our guild turns 11 years old this month. To both celebrate and thank the shard that has been our home for so long, we are planning a weekend of events and everyone is invited. Below you will find our schedule.

Friday October 23, 2009

Time: 6 PM EST
Event: Bank Trivia
Details: We’ll be asking trivia questions at one of the more populated banks. Be the first to answer correctly and win.
Prize: Prizes may vary depending on questions.

Time: 9 PM EST
Event: PvP Tournament
Details: This will be a single elimination tournament, meaning if you die, you’re out. Early rounds may be larger than 1 on 1 fights depending on the number of combatants. Contestants will be added to the Guild of Friends in order to fight, and removed afterwards, please clear this with your guild beforehand.
Rules: No pets, no mounts, no summons. We will throw up a wall of stone before the fight, when the wall falls, combat begins, you may precast non offensive spells once the wall goes up, but not offensive. Contestants will be in a barrel arena that will be made smaller the longer a fight goes on.
Prize: All or nothing, 10M to the winner

Time: Following the Tournament
Event: Ghost walk
Details: Just in time for Halloween! In this event we invite everyone to make a new character on a neighboring shard of our choice. Once there, we will all commit suicide, and send our ghosts on parade through the more populated areas. People have some rather unique reactions when they see a few dozen ghosts running past.

Time: 12:00-2:00 PM EST
Event: Scavenger Hunt
Details: Pretty standard scavenger hunt, you get a book of clues, find the most objects to win.
Prize: TBD

Time: 3 PM EST
Event: GOF’s biggest Net Toss ever!
Details: We have over 100 nets, and half of them are white.

Time: Following Net Toss
Event: Packhorse Survival
Details: In this event, players are given a packhorse and gated into a location of our choice. The first one to walk out with a living packhorse wins.
Rules: There is no gating, no recalling, and no peacemaking. We will have some stealthy friends following the contestants to make sure these rules are followed.

Time: 6 PM EST
Event: Shard Jumpers
Details: We’re going on parade on a number of other shards, come join in the fun.

Time: 7:30 PM EST
Event: The GOF piñata house
Details: We’ve loaded up a house with some great treats, once enough people have gathered around, the house will be dropped. Lots of rewards for the fast looter.
Prize: The aforementioned goodies

Time: 8:30 PM EST
Event: Auction
Details: I know some folks have been complaining about the goods we’ve had for sale lately, now you’ll see why. We’ve been hoarding some of our best items for a 11th anniversary auction blowout.
Prize: Some good deals for smart bidders.

Time: 12:00 PM EST
Event: GOD Clothing Drive
Details: We’ll be helping all then new players we can find with state of the art equipment. Come get outfitted or help the needy.

Time: 1 PM EST
Event: Peerless Round Robin
Details: We’re looking to lead the largest hunt ever through all the peerless monsters we can find.

Time: 8 PM EST
Event: GOF Social
Details: A chance to make new friends on the shard.

Time: 10:00-11:00 PM EST
Event: GOF Leadership Roast
Details: While this is more for members of GOF, everyone is welcome to attend and pick on the GOF leaders.

Time: 11:00-11:30 PM EST
Event: Parade
Details: We’ll be wrapping up the weekend with a parade across Sosaria, please put on your green and black and join us.

I wanted to thank all who came out for an Outstanding Auction we really rocked it! All staff were on point and did an awesome job. The crowd was amazing I don't think I ever remember seeing that many good people in one area at one time enjoying themselves. Always a pleasure to see the returning Patrons of the house as well as all the new faces. We have now set a goal to beat next year as we set a new record in gross sales with this Auction. Gross sales totaled by my calculations to be $267,252,500.00 and be sure next year we will set a new bar. Thanks again to all who submitted and the new friends we made. The auction house staff thanks all of you as they were able to be given a bonus in their paychecks this year...LOL. Safe Travels till the next time my friends.
