(Player Event) GOF Annual Shard IDOC & Anniv Events This Weekend

Greetings Great Lakes!

It is that time of year when Guild of Friends will again be hosting a variety of events to celebrate 12 years of Ultima Online and 12 years as a guild on Great Lakes. We want to open these events up to the entire shard so please check out the list below and join us whenever you can.

Friday, October 22
LUNA BANK TRIVIA 7 PM CST/8 PM EST
Come join us at LUNA BANK and your chance to WIN GOLD. Then we'll provide a gate to our featured event - the GOF Idoc.

GOF IDOC 7:30 PM CST/8:30 PM EST
We've taken the time to load a house up with a variety of items including tokens, arties, checks of varied amounts up to 1 million, filled commodity deeds, scrolls, rares, holiday items, commons and a whole lot more. Come join the guild in a scramble for some loot!

We assume that someone will summon a harbinger as well so if an idoc isn't your thing then come planning to fight. We have also heard rumors that some evil creatures are not happy about the guild giving away free loot and this may result on an attack on our banner. Join us in playing some defense if this happens – we can gate everyone to the banner at the mouth of the Valley.

***Note - we have changed the time of the events this evening so that you can participate in the Festival of Fall afterwards (scheduled for 8 pm CST on the GL shard).


Saturday, October 23
GHOST WALK 2 PM CST/3 PM EST
We’ll leave from Haven Bank and you can join us on a ghost march around a mystery shard (TBA).

BOB VS FRED WAR 8 PM CST/9 PM EST
We’ll meet at Haven Bank for the start of the event. Then ask everyone to make either a Bob or Fred on another shard (TBA) and we’ll go to war at a Fel gate with noob chars and npc items. Last one standing wins a prize.


Sunday, October 24
GOF NET TOSS 4 PM CST/5 PM EST
We'll gate you from Haven Bank for a good old fashioned net toss.

GOF SOCIAL AT HAVEN BANK 8 PM CST/9 PM EST
To close out the weekend we’ll have a social gathering in front of Haven Bank and reminisce about all of the good and bad times we’ve had on Great Lakes the past years.

Mates and i have been filling the IDOC house for weeks now- there is literally millions in gold and items in the house. Everything from rares,gold ,silver coins, house add ons, rare armor ,even a hidden million off site with the clue to its location within the walls.(also some plain ole junk to make it just like any other IDOC.) Hope to see many players out for this event. Runes are being dropped all around that have GOF IDOC info on them, and we will be gating from Luna bank and depending on how many gaters are available maybe some other locationsl. c ya there.

Thanks a lot to everyone who participated in the first night of events. We had a great time and hope you did too. More to come the next two days. We have a 5 million gold prize for the fight tomorrow night.

Unfortunately we had some bad news in the guild this week. Two of our members (husband and wife) had their house burn to the ground in real life today. Then tonight we had the wife of one of our guild members (Cervantes) tell us that he had lost his battle with cancer and passed away. He was a great player and a great guy who left behind a wonderful wife and some young kids.

So I would like to recognize these members this weekend amidst the anni events we are hosting. As someone in GOF said tonight - it's only a silly game but we all make some very real friendships over the years.

That is so sad I'm very sorry to hear that. The families will be in my prayers.

I contacted Lexi and Backdraft by phone today.. the good news is no one was hurt in the fire.. pets and people are all ok. Sadly the house and everything in it was a total loss. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them. Hopefully they will be able to rebuild and get back to normal in a quick fashion.
