[Lock Picking] GM Lockpicking degraded?

After a longer time I decided to jump in and pick some dungeon chests (i.e. Yew Crypts, Vesper Bank, Destard etc).
But on chests I never failed (lvl 4 and even lvl 3) I started not only to fail, but also break lockpicks (losing the last old newbiefied lockpicks that way is bothering me).
Why is that?
Did there arrive a 120 Lockpicking scroll I am not aware of?

Perhaps it has gotten something to do with the new lockpicks found as loot in treasure chests ? They are now somewhat needed to open up those chests ?

Yes, I'm guessing thats why they included the change.

If you do treasure maps, you'll get tons of the Skeleton keys in no time. They don't break on failed attempts, and each key has 10 charges.
