Gloves of Mining Question

I have a warrior, a macer, and had a ring of +10 macing and a bracelet with +15 macing, and I noticed that my macing didn't rise very fast. Now, after taking off the jewelry and replacing it with stat enhancers, my macing is rising again at a normal pace.
Do the Gloves of Mining do the same? It seems my Smith/Miner's mining gains have dropped to horribly low levels (granted I am at 93 mining). I have been out for a half-hour with one gain in that time, wearing the gloves. Should I go back to no glove mining? Or are gains just that slow now?

It's always slow in the 90's. However, I'd not use the gloves but just keep mining. If you can pull ore that is around your level, hold it, then smelt each piece individually (don't do full piles.) That will get you more chances for a gain.

For 93 that would be Agapite and Bronze to get some good chances at gains. When you get past 95 then Verite/Agapite is good to 99, when you should hit Valorite.

These days it's tougher because of the randomness of veins, but you should still gain regularly.

If you are after gains then I would recommend not wearing the gloves, especially in the 90's.
If you are after the higher ores (prior to reaching GM) then use them but understand that the higher your skill the slower your gains are going to be.
While getting to GM I never wore the gloves since my goal was to reach the skill level as soon as I could. Now I only use them to increase my chances of smelting high level ore.

Three days no gloves, gains every day. Not great gains, mind you, but gains.
Day one kinda sucked.....got one 0.1 gain (93.5-93.6) in 45 minutes, then another gain within a few minutes, and then nothing for ten minutes...so I went to do someting else. Day two was ok, with two gains in 40 minutes.
Then, last night got three gains within 30 minutes.
I figure the gloves were slowing me down.

Not sure if this really a game mechanic, but it seemed to be my experience:

Once gloves got me over 100, I had no gains at all. Not even GGS.

Took of the gloves and got from 95 to 100 natural in about 4-5 hours over the next several days.

Now only wear mining gloves to smelt, and wear something with a bit of resist while I'm just diggin.
