I remember back in the day these used to have 3 special abilities. However they do not work anymore and haven't for quite some time. This makes me wonder why the heck you cannot imbue these? I see no advantage to them being imbued and almost no legitimate PVP mage would use one in a serious fight. So did they make them not able to be imbued simply because they are cool looking? Or perhaps they are on a special items list like the ones that used to be able to be imbued? I don't think they should be on that list if they are because they definitely aren't special aside from having a nice hue.

Agreed, would be nice if they'd be able to make that work again...

And while they're add it, maybe they can fix the zealots of khaldun; upon death they used to have special loot on them, but nowadays they only have the loot of a skeleton knight/mage...

Back when Glacial Staffs first came out, PvP Mages used to use them all the time. One of their special abilities, called "Ice Strike" could be invoked by saying "In Corp Del". What it'd do, is it would consume all your current Mana, and deal 1 point of damage for every 2 mana consumed, for a maximum of 50 damage instantly (100 INT/Mana Cap back then). Two mages would get together, and "tag team" people with Ice Strikes from Glacial Staffs, killing their victim instantly (100 STR/HP max back then).

I used to like the fact they "sang" when you uttered the words for the spells.

Before I quit a few months back, I don't recall seeing them drop at all either. Spent hours killing Ice Serpents in T2A frozen wastes, where they dropped with fair regularity, but nothing.

They still drop. Also the tribal spears from the savage can't be imbued. Unless you have some the old 25%DI from the Delucia invasion. Other oddity is the Evil Orc Helm and Imbuing. The helm that faces left has a hidden mod that lessen mods for imbuing. And for those that team hunt the bracelets of binding can be imbued. And if the drop rate for Deamon Bone armor is going to be so hard they need to cap them at 500+ish points or 6 mods for any looted today. Make it a bloddier red.
