Genesis Archives Rune Library is - - -

- - an incredibly large, well organized, elaborate Library of Rune books covering all of UO, and occupying three floors of the building which is found as one leaves the Luna Moongate area via those Eastern Steps. As you go down the steps, look to the North. On the North side of those steps, next to the Luna wall, stands the best library that I have ever encountered in all my 15 years on Sonoma! It is constantly being improved. We used to have Trinsic Rose Library which too was incredible and well known. Now we have this one. Yes I am guilty of not saying anything in UHall about it before this. The only recognition I gave this place was to supply marked runes on my vendor or locked down in my house to all good libraries on this Shard. This one deserves a ton of recognition and praise, (in my opinion).

The name of the shop is Genesis Archives.
MALAS CO-ORDINATES are: 97o 55'N, 20o 6'W

It's hard to imagine the amount of time and intensive work that went into this library!

Is it possible that a special award could be given in recognition and appreciation for this Library, and for any other outstanding, exceptional achievement on any shard?

And everyone told me not to sell him that 18x18 plot after I placed it..

But yeah his libraries are actually overlooked, it also seems that he is selling off almost all his Luna houses with the exception of Atlantic.

OH NO! He is a treasure to be kept on ALL SHARDS! UO should hire him! Or how about free accounts?

hell of a investment too to pick up a luna plot on most NA shards.

Well, with the rates he´s charging, gold shouldn´t be an issue for him... :p

His LA house just has the books stacked on the floor, so it was a pain to use - but he had runes to places I couldn't find elsewhere.

Hopefully if he's closing that one, the books end up at the shard's other rune library, that has undergone many a house fall, but people keep rescuing it and rebuilding it (that once belonged to Crazy Joe)

A good chunk of that library was from the Black Rune Library on Great Lakes a few years ago. Won't go into the drama or back story of how that came to be, but none-the-less...He has an awesome library set up on multiple shards. Shame that so few people know about it or the history of all those great books. TYVM for bringing it to Uhall so others can visit. :) I've enjoyed the original master books from black rune for a few years now and hope that others can enjoy the genesis set as much.

Sometimes I get the feeling there has been a lot of drama in this game, across all shards :(

pssst .... by the way ... right across the sidewalk on the south side is the Sonoma Community Library ... with all the runes you need in a very organized and community service style .... the only vendor is one that provides needed items like recalls, marks, runes and runebooks at very reasonable prices ... just to support the vendor cost itself ... to bad the OP hasn't had the opportunity to stop by and support the Sonoma player owned library ... thank you to the players of sonoma for providing it and to our benefactor Lord Nabin for donating the spot :)

(In my opinion) The Genesis Archives are an eyesore and are just books thrown all over the floor.. I agree with Queen Mum about the Sonoma Community Library.. That house seems much more organized.. And Its always a plus to support the Sonoma community over a mass produced shard eyesore..

While I'll not get into the debate on what rune library is better on Sonoma, I will say Jade you should be damned ashamed of yourself for even starting this thread and the reason behind it. Childish.

For the record both libraries, make your own opinion:

The library Jade is praising first, then the library that several of our own shard players worked together on.

This thread is about to go into what I am refering to Vanderpump Rules.

Less the youth and the hotness but falls under the same catagory.

Sevens Library in Zento DF is awesome... I would be happy if this ugly buildung in Luna DF vanishes and a true Drachenfelsian would fill the plot with life and beauty... Never liked those x-shard real estate-monsters!

holy smokes that came out of left field.
i take it there is some drama going on behind the scenes that we normal people dont know about.
i guess thats why they invented PM's, eh?

Well, I too don't like ugly, empty, big buildings in Luna, especially on my home shard. No wonder it sits there empty, without life, with a vendor rental price for 100K/week when practically all other shopkeepers let people rent for free... But I love big, well organised rune libraries and their old, sometimes fogotten but interesting places very much, but it is really not easy to make out something of piles of dropped-on-the-floor-runebooks. No pun intended, I'm just being blatantly honest here... :-}

Queen Mum: Runes to your old library were always on my Vendor free but someone kept taking them all. Your library is NOT being overlooked. List Libraries of interest in this thread, and let others know if they warrant being rewarded for their endevors - that includes yours. Thanks.

S_S: This is not a Contest. Thank you for your post. It gives me a chance to clarify any misconceptions others may have about this post.

Of course some libraries are built by unscrupulous players thus the history of how Libraries came to be creates an issue - - as in this case, as I have recently been informed via PM. And that is why:

Does anyone seriously expect I should know every library, the history of every library, and include all Libraries in this posted thread so no one has their feelings hurt and resent being overlooked thus have players "chastising me* for leaving them out, and not crediting them for their exeptiontial work, and for not crediting all other libraries with their intense work?

Over the past 15 years, I built and contributed to libraries which others could use freely, so I know what
time- intensive hard work is involved in marking runes to all the various places on the shard. Before rune books were available many sets of low priced marked runes were kept on some vendors, including mine, because players would lose those much-needed runes, kept in their backpacks, if they died. It was hard replacing such runes. So these runes were made available to everyone, for all new players, and guilds to enjoy. I hope some of my
marked-runes/ library-rune-books wound up being saved and have become part of today's libraries!

The concept of making this post is exactly as suggested: "A special award could be given in recognition and appreciation for this Library, and for any other outstanding, exceptional achievement on any shard?" <<<meaning ANY LIBRARY and such ACHIEVEMENT made by players to improve this game for others.
- - an award akin to awarding banners to Heritage homes ? .
