General Warrior template -simple advice

I am a returning player with a new account. I have not any wealth so no need to worry about suit building just yet. Here is the template that is being worked towards with the available points.

Mace - 120 (I have found this scroll cheap and can afford it within a day or so)
Tac - 100
Heal - 100
Anat - 100
Chiv - (80) Seems 80 at least makes my EoO dependable
Bush 100
Parry 100

The mace I can 120 soon. This is probably ok for now just curious what all else folks might recommend to tweak it, or which additional pscrolls to pursue.

Also will this template handle alright without going the sampire route? Any considerations I might want to take into account regarding the future development of a viable melee warrior type character.

Will 120 parry and bush afford me even comparable protection vs just leeching health constantly

What kind of things should I be able to hunt with such a character? It almost feels like my ABC archer except less safe. Am I doing melee wrong or do they just get the crap end of the stick.

80 chivalry looks too low. You need 70% damage bonus from EOO. I suggest you to get 120 chivalry. It shouldn't be expensive.
With 120 chivalry and 20k karma Divine Fury gives you 20 DI, 15 HCI, 15 SSI, -10 DCI. You will need those stats, especially SSI.

Mace 120
Tac 100
Anat 100
Heal 80
Chiv 120
Bush 100
Parry 80

You can use a black staff for WW and probably war axe for AI.
You will need 5 SSI on your suit (20 SSI with DF) and 150 stamina to achieve max swing speed. 5 SSI ring with 1-2 "bad" mods (like resist or lmc) should be cheap.

In a pretty cheap suit with "4 HPI, 7 SI, 7 MI, 6-7 LMC, 13 res, 150 dur" items on each slot and "13 HCI, 13 DCI, 22 DI, some DEX/STR" jewels must be cheap. It'd be better to refine the suit so it has 75 phys, energy and may be fire resists.
Add mana phasing orb with HCI+DI and a quiver with 5 DCI.
I think 2m will be enough to get all items listed above.

Weapon choice depends on what are you going to fight.
I'd recommended
War Axe: SuperSlayer, 100 HML, 66 HLL, ~30 DI, ~30 HSL (may be more HLL if you can afford spending 10 Void Orbs)
Black Staff: SuperSlayer, 45 DI, 60 HML, 60 HLL, 44 Hit Area (may be more Hit Area if you can afford spending 10 Raptor Teeth)
(Probably 1.5-2.0m for war axe and 1.0-1.5m for black staff.) You need check how much DI you have with DF on to calculate how much DI you need on the axe. You probably will use black staff without DF (using CW, Confidence and WW).

But he has no wealth... :)
Your hints are right, but he needs some good gold for the chivalry scroll and the weapons, and the PoF isn't really cheap :D

CaptainLu, consider yourself "in training" till you have at least the money hinted by Corwin.

Good "training" spots:

Shame lvl 1-2: Here you should find good loot items, with 0 luck you will probably find some cursed-brittle-cannotberepaired uber items. Use it and then dispose of them. Aim for pieces with stats similar to what corwin said, and keep only the items you need. The rest, you can unravel with your imbuer, and then train him or sell the magical residue if you can find a buyer. Or trash the items and gain some Cleanup points for knight's armor, SoA, etc.

Tsuki Wolves: This will be your best source of gold in this training time. With about 1k per wolf, you won't find anything better. If you know your skills, and have a demon slayer, you should farm more or less non-stop there. Bring alot of bandages... :D

Troglodyte caves: The insane respawn will get you so occupied you won't have time to loot :D But you should, because they have Spellweaving scrolls (very good sellers) and money and bandages. With a repond slayer this should be a no-brainer farm.

When you have accrued a bit of money (about 4-5m), you should aim for a suit like corwin said, and aim then for bigger targets: renowned, miasma, maybe some champ spawns.

Good luck!

I personally think you can get by with 84 Chivalry. 120 is fine if you can fit is in your template. If not, 84 chiv gets you the 50% Damage Increase bonus from EOO.

Let your char has: 120 bushido, 84 chiv, 60 base character damage

With honor, slayer, eoo he does 180 damage.

Without honor he does 162 damage. With 120 chivalry he would done 180 damage. (He need about 95 chivalry to do 180 damage)

Without slayer the first five hits do 81, 91, 100, 110, 120 damage (502 total - even less because he runs out of mana). With 120 chivalry he would done 106, 119, 132, 145, 157 damage (659 total).
When he got perfection he does 162 damage. With 120 chivalry he would done 180 damage.
When he misses one time the next three hits will do 142, 151, 161 damage. With 120 chivalry he would done 180, 180, 180 damage.

This is why I always advice to get at least 95 chivalry.

Btw, which shard are you playing?
If you happen to be at Legends, I will gladly equip you with decent armour and weapons to help you get by for free.
I would even add a repond and an elemental slayer weapons with proper mods to the pack for free.

120 Parry
70 Anatomy
25 Spirit Speak
