It's very hard to play Siege when you are sitting on things you own and cant really afford to lose. Atleast a short run to a town would give a non pvp'er a chance. To me it's a great idea, a work around to playing Siege again when I have no housing there.

Just a couple towns cant hurt, right?

Heh, I bought a 'shop from guardzone' shop and before I'd hardly gotten settled in, you couldn't cos the guardzone wasn't there anymore Was very handy when training stealing though.

i dont think some people realize what a problem no zones is for our crafters . were actually losing poeple over it. we need them. they are the ones who supply all the crap we fight with .

it would help some people alot and what would it really hurt ? you cant cast certain spells here ? (big whoop)

Actually, I don't believe you have any real proof that we're losing players because of this. The fact is, there are plenty of towns with guardzones.
Umbra, Luna, Zento, Papua, Delucia, Cove, Occlo, Jhelom, Nujelm, Serpents Hold and Ter Mur. Any "veteran" player and most real, new players wouldn't have trouble finding most of them.

ok i dont have proof and i have no intentions of naming names , but i know a few crafters and i hear them .

i dont have a crafter myself so im not asking anything for mysself, but the logic is sound .

poeple who cannot easily defend themselves need them.

it shouldnt make much difference to the supposed "elite" .

pvpers who like to run to guard zones already have places .

honestly what difference would it make ?

it would mean alot to some folks . and require very little from the established players.

Well Kat said it all. Haven't played for awhile but like to come back again, been playing east of Vesper and knew "guards' didn't work. So there are areas a person can play in Siege. A list of the towns helps a lot. In fact I had a real problem a few months ago when I tried to come back and found myself full to the max and no where to run.

Just one day of getting my char to a bankbox was risky. I knew Siege before they removed guard zones, didn't know which areas still had any left.

And, 'if one is afraid to die, then dont play Siege'. FYI, I've probably died more than most on Siege so you're speaking to a death pro. And I'll play Siege if I wanna!

Dendra is targeted by certain players so it is common sense to cut my loses.

So....'least I'm not a 'house hider' I'm a guard zone runner.

This also is a huge annoyance for the britain faction base as it is a guard zone and reds will be whacked in their own faction base by the blue npcs there... Leave it how it is there are plenty of guardzones

Only half of this is true.

Well you can still steal in guard zone, with the chance of being wacked. Now they can have fa free run. I dont mind no guard zones. It frustrated me at first, but I just choose where to bank now depending on what I have to do.

I think the brit base needs a remodel anyway.

The drop down door on the bridge needs to be fixed. The doors on the halways in the castles need to be removed. The blue npc guards that gwack you when you throw fields need to be gone.
Water barrels should be removed from all bases and shouldnt be able to be placed. This makes for an issue with energy fields in the brit base if you dont know it i sure as **** aint gonna tell it...

Items placed inside a faction base should be on a faster decay timer. Maybe excluding corpses. Anyone thats ever had to fight somone that bust a crate of candlebras can vouch.
If they do bring back guards make it like prodo no guard zone in the base.

I dont mind the guard zones. I currently will pk somone in town but have also been pked buying jewls. It can get agrivating. If they change it back or not im ok...

I just got use to having the towns without guards... and I not sure
there is a good reason to come back.

I could even live with Britain remaining without city guards.

My pet peeve is just because I am not in Factions I can not enter
Lord British's Castle. Several past events occurred by starting in
the Castle. It seems unfair to event followers to have to join Factions
just to play.

I agree with you that it is annoying. However, since the EM supposedly plays siege, this will not be a recurring thing. I don't see why non-factioneers can't go into faction bases myself.

You're all forgetting that newbies fresh from Brit Inn could be killed with no repercussions.. I can say without proof that that probably made more than one Siege newbie give up. Even on Siege new players need some sort of half-shield to get their bearings.

The shard had town guards for a long long time. With BoS's and such your arguments are moot. You can always have the chance to kill someone when they leave town. It's not like people make their lives inside of GZ towns.. UO isn't like that anymore; players have to leave town at some point.

Besides.. Rome fell because they couldn't guard against the barbarians. It's been over a year with no guards; the towns should have been demolished and gone. But we all know that will never happen, bringing guards back at least attempts to bring some realism to the situation.

I never heard a "GZS, WTF?!" comment before they were taken away.

If I want to be safe I can use Zento or Jhelom, both with conveniently placed moongates. I can even use Luna. Umbra's guardzone is so 'iffy' that you can get killed there anyway even with it active. Those who can gate easily and need a bank close to a stable use Serpent's Hold. Nujelm, Cove and Ocllo are also safe, but less convenient.
'Safe' being a relative term on Siege anyway.
Though one of the best laughs I've had on the shard came when someone tried to attack me in Zento healer shop. He was dead before I had time to notice he'd targetted me . Lots of npc healers in that shop.
