Gathering BOD's by .1 smith characters

I am not aware that this is illegal, but I put .1 Smithing and .1 Tailor on a my non crafting characters in order to increase the # of BOD's I can get. The "noncrafters" all have other "careers" and get regular play. Once per day, just before logging off I usually drop by and try to pick up a BOD...

For the last 20 or so trips each (3 different) character who stops has been getting a 20 pc. Shield BOD of some type. Nothing but!

The Tailor still gives a random assortment.

Is this just a run of bad luck, or is there something in the game that notes this low smith value and gives out the large/expensive to fill BODS?

Thanks!

Yea at/1 tailor/smithy you will get one of the lowest bods available once an hour! Thats alot per day and when you turn em in(with a gm-leg) you have that chance for a great bod! Its kinda the easy way to a big pile of easy to fill in turn in bods. The tailor .1 skill bods sell quite high as I remember 1-3 k each.

Gee, I hate to sound so misinformed, but why are the low end tailor bods worth so much...is it because you just can easily fill them and turn in more?

You only get BODs in your skill range. Color anything won't be. And it just gives you the lowest ones.

The BEST thing to do with these is gather about 100-200. fill them one day, and turn them in. Each time you turn one in (use a 120 smith or tailoring) you can get another. And basically you get to rotate those into higher BODs. It takes sometime and resources, but I think it's worth it. I've gotten runics I probably would have only gotten if I had an account of nothing but GM smiths and tailors

And since the economy is so screwy, its actually cheaper (and faster) to fill these low-end BODs by buying the items from the NPC rather than buying the ingots and making the items.

It's nowhere near illegal, though some might frown on it a little because they're petty.

The only reason to do so, really, is to gather low end iron bods for filling by your high level smith so they can try to get better colored bods. Otherwise they really aren't of much use.

And yes, on almost all the low end bods I tend to buy the items -- except for armor. So most weapons, shields and helmets. Look for bargains in the Felucca faction sales, they can up your profit a little on the bods that actually are profitable (there are a few.)

Thanks folks.

I'm glad its not "illegal", but I am only getting "Shield" BODS! Again last night my 3 non-smiths all received a 20 Bronze Shield or Buckler.

Is this programed in, or just really bad luck, since they are very expensive to fill?

Thanks!

I threw .1 smithing on my other characters today to test, as well. All I got were bronze shield bods.

Maybe that's all they give for a skill level that low now?

You should get bucklers and kite shields as well.
