So, I've made my first gargoyle/artificer, but I've never built a suit of gargish armor. Need some advice from you folks with experience in this area.

Template I'm Considering (Tactics/Mage):

120 Imbuing
120 Mysticism
120 Mage
120 Eval
100 Tactics
20 Focus

Mod's I'd like on my armor:

100 lrc
40 lmc
8 mr
3 sr
45 dci
30+ hci
2/6
60s resist
+15 mage for mage weapon

Going to put 25 dci on the mage weapon, wear a Conjurer's Garb, and wear Spirit of the Totem or Alch tally. Also, I can't wear a shield, as I'll be using a throwing weapon. For the rest of the armor/mods, I'm open to suggestions on the best way to achieve this suit.

I found it pretty difficult to equip my mystic/artificer gargoyle and regret the decision to go that route. That being said, I can give you my two cents for helping equip your guy. To fit a lot of the mods you want, your jewelry will look something like this: Ring FC1, FCR3, HCI 15, DCI 15. Bracelet FC1, FCR 3, HCI 15, +10 magery (use alchemy talisman) or FC1, FCR3, +15 Magery, HCI 11 (possibly use conjurer’s trinket for extra HCI). Even though it’s only 4 properties, I think the total property weight maxes out at 500. Pendant of the magi makes a nice necklace, which leaves you 5 slots left to obtain LMC 30, LRC 70, MR5 and 60s resists.
There are a few ways to go about it:
1) Use a normal sewing kit with barbed leather and craft leather pieces. Try to get pieces that have at least 12 in each resist and then imbue the other mods you want like LRC, LMC, etc. If you have a hard time getting the resists the way you want, then pick one resist, for example fire and craft pieces that have low fire resist. Then imbue max fire resists onto the piece with the other mods you need.
2) Use runic kits with barbed leather that create a few keys pieces. Work around them with other imbued pieces. (To save money you can use spined runic kits that can give you an expensive mod like LMC 8 or MR2.)
3) Use normal leather with a normal sewing kit. Imbue the properties you want and then try to enhance with barbed leather. (All of my pieces broke except one when I tried this.)
Before imbuing, it’s very important to look at the menu to see how much intensity the property will use, so you can ensure that you can add all the mods you want. I learned the hard way and ended up being unable to imbue that last important mod on some pieces. I'm no expert at this so I hope others pop in to give advice. Good luck. :)

Hehe thanks a bunch. *blush* I think you are a very helpful and friendly player yourself. I just realized though that there will be an issue with your resists. I forgot about the earring slot, which is where I ran into trouble with my gargoyle. You've got to use a tinker to make the earrings and the base resists are low, I think around 30. So the base resists on your leather armor needs to be 14 I think. I think you can still use the same technique of crafting a low resist and imbuing the max. I'm curious myself and am going to test it out.

I crafted gargoyle leather arms with a regular sewing kit, gm arms lore and barbed leather. Total resists = 62. As an example, on this piece you can imbue LMC 8, LRC 14, MR 2, SR 3 and resist. I'm thinking the ability to imbue colored armor just gave gargoyles new life. :)

Because I'm also from Texas. Represent. ;)

I'm glad you noted the base resists of the leather armor - that will help tremendously. I may even try to purchase some runic gargish armor for extra resists.

Thanks so much, again!
