gargoyle archer?

Hi guys I thought I would change my mystic archer into a gargoyle..and to my admiss I found out I cant acquip any bows? erm could it be that a gargoyle cant use archery?
I tried to alter the bows but I cant seem to alter them?

Gargoyles can use the throwing skill. They cannot use archery.
