1 Gb cards don't define them as 'good' automatically.
the memory on discrete video cards it the last thing to consider when purchasing. I always hear people saying, " but it's a 1Gb video card, why is it so choppy/slow/bad/crappy/etc etc? " memory on a video card is solely to render on high resolution monitors. if you're running 1024x768 for example, it doesn't matter if the card has 256/512/1024 or 2048 Mb's of ram. But if you're running dual monitors and/or 1800x1200 + resolutions, memory makes a huge difference.
