With yesterday being my wedding anniversary, what else would ya expect but for me to drag her around a few game stores? :D

Went into Hastings, checking out music (love their used and discontinued stacks, that's where all my music is!), and ended up naturally in games and pc software. What a shock I got. They are selling gametime cards for Warhammer Online in stores!!! (I admit, I ahvent seen one at my Wal-mart, but there's a lot this smalltown Waldo's doesnt have). So the burning question is, IF they can do taht for Warhammer, why not UO?

If it's expense or handling or whatever the excuse of the day is, here's an idea.

Make DAoC, UO, and WHO all the same monthly fee. And sell "Mythic Online Games Gametime Cards" in stores...let that code work for all your online games. And put pics of each game on the box it comes in, hell, that would be 100% more exposure for UO than it gets now!

I'm not talking a package deal on games, just let us apply the code to the game of our choice.

Any reason this can't happen?

*edit* And for the record, Paul Blart, Mall Cop, was funny as hell!!! :) :p

path of least resistance ~~ simplest ideas ~~ do what works....

:D all of which means there's prolly six departments that would need to be consolidated and they're all bean counters so they'll find a reason for it not to happen "no sir, would not be cost-effective at all"

The simple reason this won't happen is because this idea makes WAY too much sense.

I would really love the option of purchasing UO specific cards in retail stores.

I have seen the 'Ultimate Game Card' in Wal-marts, and it does list UO as a game that can be paid for. The pricing/value of the cards don't match the game pricing so Im not sure how it works.

EA Cash Cards would another be cool option too [but they dont look to support UO?].

No. The simple reason this won't happen is that there are very few players that still play UO that it would be silly to put it in stores across the country just to appease the very small player base that would actually buy them.
I know you guys all think that you are smarter than EA/Mythic but trust me, if they could make a profit selling game time cards they would.

yah, god forbid anyone see that Ultima Online is around even. most would prolly see it on the shelves and think it was some new game and go and buy it.

The Ultimate Game Card can only be used for one game per card. So once you redeem the card for UO, any remaining balance on the card must be used for UO in the future.

So, let's say you buy a $20 Ultimate game card, and you redeem it for 30 days of UO, which is less than $20. Whatever is left, can be used towards the next time you you redeem for another 30 days worth of game time.
