Frustrated Fisherman

Not usually one to complain but now is as good a time as any.

Been fishing and completing quests pretty regularly in hopes of receiving reward baits for the Legendary fishies.. Now anyone who is questing, knows the challenge of getting any kind of
"good reward" let alone the bait you need for these Legendary fish.

So, been about 6 months of saving my bait and off I go with excitement to catch my much anticipated legendary fishies. I am now a 120 fisherman, have on my fishermen suit, bring along a few junk proof hooks and off I go. First stop is Ilshenar, as the fish I want the most is the
"Spring Dragon Fish"... (100 uses later no fish !!)

although discouraged, I move on to Twisted weald to now catch me a rainbow fish.
(150 uses no fish!) ...hmmm, starting to wonder what is going on.

I continue on and head out on my boat, this time positive, I am going to catch me that blue marlin. using up (100 uses and NO FISH !!)

I have now put my fishing skill into a soulstone and put my fishing rod away, as I do not want to waste anymore of my fish bait that took forever to obtain!!!

I do not know if this has been as difficult for other peeps and do these baits actually work??. I really don't see the point of a fishing suit and bait if it doesn't work!!. Fishing is supposed to be "relaxing" even if in-game but I find myself "pissed off"

The Dev's really need to re-think this whole fishing idea and put the fun back into it, rather than make everything so damn difficult.

I agree, baits should really boost the chances to catch the pertaining fish/crustaceans a whole lot more.

There was talk at the 15th anniversary party of re-evaluating the baits - with the first step being to probably redo them to function like the hooks.

Making them function like the hooks is a great idea!!, as the constant baiting is a pain in the "you know what" but while their doing that, they need to add some xxxtra smelly bait so we can catch these fish!!!...Kinda discouraging to keep fishing otherwise.

All of fishing is in need of a revamp... The work/reward is nothing short of ludicrous...

the places you have been fishing this won't help any. but the fish finder in anywhere you can get a ship in, helps alot with geting the rare or legendary fish. Friends fishing in the school of fish also pulls them up.

Even with the bait, the fish are legendary and if they change anything, they won't be much of trash sitting around everyone has.

I have tried the fisher finder actually. Unfortunately most of the legendary fish I am after are found within the dungeons
(terathean keep, prism of light, labrynth, ect..) The "marlins" still elude me though and I have fished ALOT of deep water !!.

Have to say I am with the rate being right on spot for rare. Have your characters name on them is what really makes the desire sour at fail. Who the fish was caught by date should of been imbedded with the fish. After mounting a plaque tool could of been used to title the fish. Any player could tool the mount but only the true catcher of the fish would show the date.

Even if the rare fish are bumped up. Make it so the first one caught of a rare fish random weight is the fishers locked in cap weight for the rare fish. Being every one that type caught from then on never will exceed that one unless you take it to a fishing warden at the docks. Got me one Blue Marlin, 20 stones. That baby should of been tossed back in. Could also make it the warden returned fish weights would make future catches of that type not be any lesser. Hidden ability at fishing for lets say Blue Marlin.

This would be great for fishpies if they didn't cost more to make then they sell for.
