Freezing sometimes when taking damage - is there a fix?

Ok, I'm trying to convert to the EC and stop wussing out in the CC. Got macros n hotbars all setup and went taming cu sidhe with it today. One teensy but deadly problem...If a pup gets close enough to hit me and gets in a bite, I lag. So it usually gets in the necessary 3 bites to kill me It seems to be a special attack thing, if I take plain old damage from spawn it doesn't do this. But a special move of any kind and I freeze up.

Is there anything I can do to fix this? The client works perfectly for me otherwise, so it's kinda frustrating.

Interesting... I have not seen this and have tamed hundreds of cu sidhe with the EC. I do get a freeze when I open a full treasure chest, but that's the only time I see that.

Are you using any mods?

I was, but it's still affecting me even using the default client.

I remember this used to get me before, anything that did special moves could sometimes freeze me with them lol.

It might be a linux problem...that's the only thing I can think of. I can always use the CC for taming I guess

Have you tried your own special moves? Are they lagging too? And is the client running fluent in other situations?

Then it seems to be a problem with your windows emulation software. I have tried it on my laptop with WINE, but my laptop can not handle it under linux, but it also cant handle it under Windows , so i see no difference between linux and windows. But i havent tried special moves.

I got a similar problem, but was not lag, just the speed of the damage numbers... if the speed is wrong, you see the numbers coming late.

open with notepad the damagewindow.lua and try with these values:

DamageWindow.OverheadAlive = -70
DamageWindow.OverheadMove = 1.5

for my PC are like 2d, but in my laptop are too fast. All depends by your desktop resolution, so play with these 2 values until you find the right ones

Oki, I had a bit of a mess around with the EC settings and I think I fixed it. I set the settings for the particles etc down in the user settings and thought I'd try taming with that and see...it seems to be fixed now, at least on my bard tamer. Strange cos this is an oomphy PC that runs the client really fast otherwise.

The figures for damage did seem to be slow while I was messing around, so I'll see if I can tweak the overhead speed and try particles turned up again. But at least it works for taming now lol.

I usually run particle at low if I run it at high their are certain areas that seem to slow me down like the lava area in the abyss near the entrance not sure why but is a noticeable difference!
