Forums, "Hot Thread" Indicators

I was just wondering what the criteria defining a "hot thread" is. The idea, I would think, is to point out which threads are the most active or most replied to or most viewed, or some combination of the above.

Problem is, a vast majority of the threads here in U-Hall are "hot threads," thus sort of defeating the purpose in pointing them out in the first place. Just makes for an actively exploding left-hand column.

Perhaps a tweak in what defines "hot thread" is in order?

I think the standard is something like "150 views", which really isn't a lot when it comes to a forum like Uhall, which at the time of writing has 138 active users.

I think you may need to redefine "hot".

A "Hot Thread" is one that is bright red again even though you just looked at it five minutes ago...

I apologize.. my friend just pointed out that this assumes your Stratics settings are the same as mine.. mine highlite red whenever a new post has been added to a thread.

Can think of some threads that need that stop icon or more to the point the OP of those threads needs that sign slapped on them

I only mentioned it because as I was reviewing a few threads, I suddenly realized that the icons on the left were all flushing skyward, and it just got me curious. Hard to tell the truly active ones if they're all flashing like mad. hehe
