Forum Q: why doesn't editing the title show?

Quick about the forum, I just edited the title of one of my threads, but this doesn't show, only if you click the thread and read inside.

I dislike making new topics for no good reason, so am I doing something wrong, or is this a 'feature' of the forum?

Nope had same problem... U cant change your post heading title at all..

I just did some testing and it seems this only works for new topics or so.

Just did one (old and unimportant) here

Open via (avail to op only)

THEN
bottom right side of edit window ... Save >>Go advanced<< Cancel
Go advanced ... should have topic line available

I did that one first, but it also didn't work on my old topic. As you can see it didn't work properly on yours either:

actually ... it DID work ... I edited the thread starter topic line ... and I can edit all my other posts (start or comment) topic line.

It does NOT cascade through ALL the thread changing all topic lines with one edit ...(nor should it)

Is that what you're after?

Ah! now I see what you mean ... "main page" doesn't show the edit ...
Might be a mod/admin only option ... for pruning and editing titles
(seen a few moved to SnR "get that treatment")

No, it still doesnt change it on the FORUM level- only inside the post. I ran into the problem on the New Player's Corner post, where I'm a moderator, no less.

Thanks! Alas that doesn't work .

At the top of the page, click "thread tools", then "Edit thread"
If Edit thread isn't an option, then you/normal users don't have the permission(s) to edit their own threads.

Vbulletin keeps posts/threads seperate, so when creating a thread, it creates both a thread and post title.
Unless permissions are set correctly, you can only edit the post title
