Forum Campaigns for Deputy Commander

Since this is something new to Chesapeake I wanted to help do our part here on stratics for promoting such campaigns. No one running is required to do this but it is an option for you.

Either the one running or the one incharge of their campaign will be allowed to make a poster. With pictures, history or anything you find relevent to the candidates campaign. I will stick the poster at the top of the stratics forums for people to read. Users may ask (Respectful and Appropriate) questions to the candidates.

Each candidate will be treated fairly no matter what community they are from. As a moderator here on Stratics it is my job to be fair to all and make sure the rules of the forums are followed.

With that said I hope to see some creative posters and really great interaction not only on the forums but ingame as well.

Hail, I am Winfield, one of the candidates for Deputy Commander. I appreciate and am humbled by the opportunity to run in this very important race. I served as a leader during the Britain Invasion, Void Shadow and other wars. I conducted Call to Arms for the shard, gathered and analyzed intelligence, developed strategies with Lieutenants and Captains, and helped lead us to success.

As a Deputy Commander, I will take the role seriously and with the effort expected by the Crown, Commander, and citizens. Yet this is just one position to ensure our future victories. Many people will be planning, preparing, and conducting war whether in small skirmishes or epic battles. Many Captains, Lieutenants, Sergeants, and warriors will be on the field or in the rear rendering vital aid. The Deputy Commander must help the Commander ensure all this comes together to achieve victory.

I have served as a combat leader and strategist before, ... I can do it again. I welcome any questions or comments.

(as for a "poster", I will see what we can offer ... campaign funds are tight)

As Governor Winfield has elloquently posted his initial campaign speech, I have a few questions for him and appropriately to the other candidates Delta Butch and Celestial Knight.

1. I like the notion of Lieutenants and Captains and other planning/support personnel. How would you appoint them? Prior to the election results? Following the election results? Or on an "as needed" basis?

2. What previous war experiences have been held, and how did your leadership impact the outcome of those wars?

I may have more questions, but I think this is a good starting point.

Thank you for your questions Gowron. I'm very pleased to answer them.

ANSWER: If chosen, I will take action for getting Lieutenants and Captains after the Deputy Commander voting results. I will first meet with Commander Foxx to hear his instructions and descriptions for these positions. He may have already decided how he will select these positions. If he has not and he assigns the task to me, I would take nominations for the positions from the citizens and collect references from the guilds or groups they've led, interview each nominee, and then recommend persons for the positions to the Commander. The Commander would likely make the final selection. Personally I would not hold a vote for these positions. At times more Captains and Lts may also be needed, so some may be appointed quickly on the battlefield for that battle, and given military objectives to achieve.


2. What previous war experiences have been held, and how did your leadership impact the outcome of those wars?

ANSWER: As I mentioned in my opening remarks, I led the Call to Arms at the Britain Invasion and Void Shadow War. I designated days, times, rally points and supply spots for many to gather and fight together. At each Call to Arms, I gave a short battle briefing and what teams were doing which parts the battle, like suicide squad, mage healers, stealthers, etc. ... and who was leading each team. This method of leadership and use of our people and resoures helped lead us to victories for both of these epic campaigns.

Thank you, Governor Winfield. In the spirit of fairness, I am holding any further questions until the other candidates offer responses.

A leader....What does it mean exactly?...Does it mean calling the shots and having your men do all of the work? Or does it mean leading the charge, fighting side by side with your men in battle.

I was at the great Britain invasion...I was at the battle with the void shadow...This supposed "Leader" Winfield was....His men did all of the work...while the supposed "Leader" sat back out of harms way.

The Deputy Commander of the Royal Guard has to be in battle with his men! He has to hold up his sword side by side striking the enemy in the heart! Our land has been full of "leaders" who sat back while their men did the work. Where did it lead us? Ruin... The war with the Shadowlords proved that a true leader needs to be able to fight along side us. We defeated the darkness....It is a time of rebuilding and defending.

These reasons above...are why FoA will be backing Delta Butch. True we will be enemies in the land of Felucca....But you are the most fit to protect our loved ones in Trammel. Hopefully we will be able to fight side by side to defend our land, and hopefully we will have our swords clash as we fight against eachother in Felucca.

I am not big on making speeches but I will do my best to explain why I feel I am the type of person best suited for this position.

Whenever I have been part of a group doing something in the past I have always respected my leaders that would get in there and get dirty with me....I am that type of a leader. Also, whenever I have followed I have respected a leader that is very open minded and willing to look at all angles, options, and sources of help. I feel that I am very well connected with many groups of people all from different mindsets in this realm. I also like to see my leader, frequently and everywhere..being at the events and battles, and wars..not just a select few that are more geared towards one mindset. Basically, I am type of person that has been seen fighting side by side with my guild and many others during many events using many different styles of tactics. And everyone that has known me knows my motto in this game...If you are not having FUN then you should not be there....always have FUN first and foremost.
