Hello! It's been a LONG time. I thought I'd pop in here, to see if anyone is still around from when I used to play. I know it's a longshot, but it's also a worthwhile one to me. The main character I played was named Xara, and I spent most of my time as a bard/swordswoman. I could frequently be found hanging around with the likes of Petta Dacmby/Durango Ironbelly. I remember quite a few people from back in the day, but am unfortunately foggy on character names.

How is UO nowadays? I tried a couple of years ago, to access my old account, but can't remember any of the information I used when I signed up. 7 years, and having major mommy brain will do that to a person I'm feeling very nostalgic, and want to come back.. I just want to know if there is something to come back to. After UO I spent some time on EQ, and then SWG for several years, as Eawan Orawa on the Tempest server.... when SWG bit the dust, I head over to WoW with my guild, and played as Maera for a couple of years. UO will always be my first and favorite though!

I would love nothing more than for someone who can fill me in on what I've missed to remember me. It would be great to reminisce with someone

I have been playing since 2000 and while the game has changed a lot, it is still the same UO that you remember. There are new lands, new skills, new creatures, and much much more. The people are the same, you have your helpful people, your griefers and scammers, great guilds and bad guilds, I think the biggest change you will see is the amount of gold that people have. Most have many millions while there are some billionaires as well. I have been on Chessy since 2009 but I am sure that there will be a few here that remember you. I played a bit before you on Bruner. I was gone by 2000, but there are still plenty of folks. If your looking to call back calling customer service seems to help. I hope we can see you back soon if you need any help coming back just let us know.

There is definately something here in UO for you. Aside from all the gameplay changes (the game is still the same, but most of the mechanics have changed since you were playing) the only major difference is the number of people on the shard. But, most of the people playing now are here to stay. So, the population's smaller, but more stable.

Also, with the ease of shard transfers and the like, there are many who play multiple shards. Some of the population (mostly PvP from what I can see) hops shards and only plays on Chessy when there's fighting that they want.

Also also, the township concept is extremely popular and a cornerstone to the Chessy community. There are small & large player towns all over both in tram and fel. These towns, their associated guilds, and management are the background for most of the player events/activities that are constantly occuring around here.

I would also look around and see what you think about the EM (event moderator) program. Stratics has tons of posts about it all over the place.

Lastly, don't be discouraged because of lack of activity on these forums. A lot of people still browse here (some at least) but for whatever reason, people don't post a whole lot anymore. Probably because of the general chat ability in game. Hope to see you back. Good luck with your account...

Me shipmates just gave me a leather boot kick out of this here hammock and woke me up. They be want'n to let ye know that here on what they call a "Chessy" shard, we be sail'n the wideopen waters of Sosaria. So if ye have the stomach to weather the waves and a little adventure, pirating is alive and well here on Chessy. I also be atell'n ya that them there fisherman are a big hardy bunch. Always a see'n them with their poles in the water. So ye might want to be a check'n out those there fishing opportunities if'n ye have a hankering to. But welcome back to this here realm and hope to see ye around. Arrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

I have met sometimes 4 or 5 players a week who returned after being away up to 10 years! It has become a habit of mine to help them get up to speed again. Makes me feel powerful

Many who remained are long time residents and been thru it all, so to speak. Ask pretty much anyone here for assistance and stay out of red gates for now. Welcome.
