For a Warrior/Sampire

I would normally put this in the Warrior Forum, but I need a fast answer. Racially, Elf or Human for a Sampire build? I think I heard Elf for the mana bump. But Humans do get a hit point regen buff. Which is better?

Elf for mana bump - PvM
Human for JOAT - PvP
Oh my how things have changed....I remember when elves were recommended for PvP, humans for PvM.

Or, elves for mages (why would you EVER play a human mage, PvP or PvM?), and humans for warriors (why would you EVER play an elf warrior, PvP or PvM?).

I converted my elf sammy/whammy to a human. For the +3 MR (20 med, 20 focus), +2 SR, 20 ss, 20 hiding, 20 anat/healing, 20 spellweaving among other things.

But I delayed the conversion until I got my first pair of non-elves only fey leggings and the nightsight earrings.

All my other characters are elves, specifically silver haired/black skinned drow.

I went Elf, not that it is a huge difference. But I tend to min/max so might as well do all I can.

Why humans for mage? because you get 20 focus so you dont have to worry about the 2 Stam Reg on your suit (you need at least 2 SR to run continuously without drinking red pots).

Why elves for warriors? Well it really depends. The 20 added mana helps dexers tp spam 1 more special and that can be live or death situation. And passive reveal is amazing catching dexers especially if you also have high dex. And also more gears availible to them.

Just a few examples.

However personally I do human on all PvP AND PvM characters other than my Crafter (for mining/Lj rare resources) and my PvM Tamer (so I can tame doggies and easier to find 140 luck pieces).

My only problem is I hunt ML creatures more often, so a good portion of my armour is for elves only...

Btw, does anyone know if the faction fey leggings come in the elves-only version or the human wearable version? Don't want to swap my night sight earrings for the faction earrings that lets me wear elven items.

Warrior should be human cause of JOAT so your specials moves cost lot less mana then as elf. Also you can use tracking and hiding. Also 20 magery can be useful sometimes with scrolls. Elfs extra mana is waste since ur specials cost lot more as elf then human.. Except with those very few temps which have enough skills without JOAT.

Mage should be human for tracking, hiding, focus and poisoning so your poisonfields do better poison.

Yes mate, faction fey leggings are human wearable.

Except that as a Sampire, elf or human, you have enough points in the required skills to get the full benefit of the mana cost reduction.

I highlight this because I see it as linked with the discussions of the over-powered "gimplate" of the month that constantly go on around here.

I feel strongly that, sometimes, worries that such-and-such a template or piece of equipment are over-powered are unwarranted, because what's really going on is that its weaknesses simply haven't been fully considered. And what looks over-powered this month can look under-powered the next.

Yes, they do. But I prefer wearing my night sight earrings :D

It's good to know that the faction fey leggings does not require one to be an elf.
