"I have recently been using a weapon that has all three leeches. I have noticed that only one of these leeches can work for each hit. Is this truly how it is working, or am I just imagining things? And if it does work this way, is this intended?"

Leurocian checked the code, then hopped on a test server to check, and it appears that all three leeches will work at once. However, Stamina is calculated differently than the other two, and will give bigger returns, so if you're not looking carefully it may well appear that the other ones aren't working.

I've been hearing people comment on some weapons, saying they prefer to not have life leech since it can block another leech from going off. According to this response, no leech blocks any other - meaning if you have a tri-leech weapon, each leech will go off.

I honestly have not noticed a problem. I may look into it more but to date, have not seen anything contrary.

I'd like to know what kind of testing was done regarding this and what the % chance is for more than one to go off at once.

"The Life Leech and Mana Leech properties seem to be outside of the proper intensity range when I use a runic weapon. What's the deal?"

The chance to hit on Mana and Life Leech (but NOT Stamina Leech) are scaled based on the swing speed of the weapon. First, the SSI, if any, is run through an equation to create a modifier. Then that modifier is divided by 4 and multiplied by the intensity to get the actual proc chance (capped at 100%, of course.) Then, if it's a ranged weapon, the chance is cut in half. Faster weapons will have a smaller chance, and slower weapons will have a larger one, at the exact same intensity value. (The tooltip, as near as we can tell, is correct as to the actual chance for the effect to go off. It's just not at all representative of the intensity.)

What this means is, short of running some wacky math on every weapon you create, a crafter can't really tell what intensity he's rolled on a given weapon. I've updated the Item Properties page with a note to that effect :p

(Again, none of this applies to Stamina Leech - its intensity is simply its chance to hit / 2.)

... whatever the above means. Bascially, it is now significantly less than before the pvp "fix" implemented 1.5 yrs ago.

what this means is, using a bronze hammer, i was getting up to 90% leeches on the ornate axes i was making, but the radiant scims only gave me up to a 50% chance..

yea the leeches appear based on the speed of the weapon. Slow weapons have higher leech percentages. weapons with swing speed increase decrease the intensty.

So yes ornate axes can have high percentages because they hit slower, while radiant scimitars have lower ones. Really, the percentages for stamina leech need to be adjusted the same as the other leeches, its stupid that they are different, makes warriors really grab up those stamina leech weapons.

2 things that need to be fixed.

stamina leech needs to work just like the other leeches. HP bonus needs to work just like the other bonus's. stamina and mana bonus can reach 8 points max, hp bonus is less.

I'm really not sure what you guys are all talking about...

The FoF question was regarding the leeches actually going off when you hit a monster... not how high the leech can be on the weapon. All it says is that you can leech mana, stamina, and life all in the same hit.

Yea but most don't believe that. One one side you have warriors who have played their templates for a very long time, who have solo'd peerless and doom, who have the basic warrior mix templates, using vamp form or curse weapon to get back life often in lieu of healing skill. These vet players say that hit life leech and other leeches don't work the way the Devs say.

On the other side, you have Dev's who say "we looked at the code and it seems to work fine.". Of course, they have said this about many thing that were actually broken but "looked fine" until someone actually looked and saw that they "didn't work fine".

Me, I side with the vet players who say it doesn't work that way. You can pretty much mark this post and probably after more looks, suddenly something will "be found" that makes it not work the way expected.

Yep. I'm still not convinced that more than one leech can go off at a time, which is why I'd like to know the test parameters.

I think best way to test would get an elf char (for no regen), 0 for all 3 regens, 0 focus, 0 med, and fraps whacking away at stuff with a soul seeker without using honor, abilities or forms.... that way can see if leeches are really going off simultaneously. Fraps so you can not only have evidence but play back say 5 mins of doing this and check for simultaneous leeching
