I've gotten 3 robes *shrug* Try character transferring to Sonoma to turn your crystals in...or quit crying. Atlantic gets 10x the events of other shards, you win some, you lose some folks!

I don't see that robe as any big flippin deal. I think most of the crystal hunters are obsessed with having it only because others have it.......it's a UO psychological thing.

I started doing the quest,,,,,read about the vast sum of crystals needed and other players blindsiding each other to get it....I got to thinking.....what's so good about it? What, cause it's a rarity?

Depends on whose asking........I'm just selling my crystals and making pocket gold.

I couldn't care less about the robes, if the Devs put in a quest then the players should be able to complete it without it being a greedfest, that's my point.

Shards obviously differ, but guilds here in Japan tend to be ultra organized; if it took you two days to make 120 imbuing they would ask you why you took so long. I can find vendors with a perpetual supply of 20 heartwood and 20 val runics, some as low as 5 mill. Years ago I noted that one vendor had a daily supply of 20 exc. val plate BODs, and for a couple of years he never ran short of any BOD.

Sorry bro but the only BS is what your spouting. Following your thinking everyone who buys a lotto ticket should win the lotto.
This is a video game, not state run gambling specifically designed to collect more than it pays. Not even close to a good comparison, nor should it even be considered. If someone puts forth the effort to collect enough crystals to obtain a robe, there shouldn't be an opportunity for someone else to take it from them, and along with all of the time they spent gathering the crystals. That's a good way to **** people off, which isn't a good thing, regardless of what you may think.

Connor's right, this quest is bull****. Three times now I've had mine stolen after using 40+ crystals. **** this game.

I'm VERY sorry to hear that. This is exactly what I was talking about. Of course the people that haven't had a robe taken out from under them are ok with other people losing theirs. I can't wait until karma pays them back.

Sak isn't built this way. You won't be getting many simple x+y=z events out of her. I am starting to rank her right up there with Draconi for originality and pot stirring. Winners and losers in everything I guess. Start arguing for your limitations and sure enough... they will be yours.

Sakkarah is my hero. She's clever and creative but I have to quit calling her a "sweety" or she may hurt me. :stretcher:

Sell the Crystals (or let 'em decay).
If you don't like something in the game, don't do it. Each nurf or broken part in the game gives me something else I don't do anymore. At some point there may be nothing left and i'll go spend the money elsewhere (no, not on wow).

Sorry bro but the only BS is what your spouting. Following your thinking everyone who buys a lotto ticket should win the lotto. They spent their time earned money on some tickets and darn it they deserve a prize! Thats just foolishness. Why not just let every char log in on halloween and have one spawn in their pack. Cause having a counter will gurantee everyone a robe and then whats the point of having something rare. I know you believe that your points are always the right ones but this time your wrong big time. How bout the EM's go look at your house find every item you own you think is special and then give everyone one of those too? How's that work for you up on your high horse?

Devs thanks for doing a great job and making something exciting for a change. No matter what there will always be some sad chaps who have to complain on a BB. Or some Holyier than thou who thinks everyones opinion except his is BS. Meanwhile the rest of us will play the game and reap the benefits without having to beg for handouts, or demand fixes to things not broken. Cause we took a chance as intended!
So many things wrong here, we need to enumerate them:

1) "Following your thinking everyone who buys a lotto ticket should win the lotto." Only if the Lotto had you walk thru a dark alley in the worst part of town with the ticket hanging out your back pocket singing "I HAVE A WINNING TICKET" at the top of your lungs. Or if a handful of people got to pull 3 of the 10 balls out of the machine to skew the odds in thier favor. The issue here is not just pure chance. It is chance weighted toward griefers. That is the complaint. I doubt anyone would complain if it was simply 1 in 100 chance of a reward per crystal.

2) "They spent their time earned money on some tickets and darn it they deserve a prize!" Haven't read that statement from anyone yet, so you're just putting words in people's mouths. All anyone is asking is that they have a shot at the reward without being griefed by folks trying to exploit others.

3) "Why not just let every char log in on halloween and have one spawn in their pack." Look up "Straw Man". People are not asking to be handed one on login, nor asking to have the reward given out "easier". They are asking to have the griefing end.

4) "Cause having a counter will gurantee everyone a robe and then whats the point of having something rare." The counter could be set to 100, 200, 500, or 1000. The higher the counter goes, the rarer it will become. Or, the counter could work like the Virtue treasures, where it only "guarentees" a reward after many, many, many attempts, however it still allows a chance with any attempt, progressively getting better as you work at it.

5) "I know you believe that your points are always the right ones" How do you know this?

6) "but this time your wrong big time" Based on? Where was it stated that the dev's intent was to allow griefers to camp gypsies? That is the only real way to prove your point.

7) "How bout the EM's go look at your house find every item you own you think is special and then give everyone one of those too?" Or go to your house and delete everything anyone else has that you also own? The pendulum swings both ways.

8) "Meanwhile the rest of us will play the game and reap the benefits without having to beg for handouts" The rest of who? Are you implying anyone still playing the game is behind you? Did you ask all of them? Are you also asking for anyone not on your side to not bother playing the game at all? Due to one aspect of one event?

9) "demand fixes to things not broken" To my knowledge, we don't know if this is "not broken". If someone can point out a dev reply on this issue.

10) "Cause we took a chance as intended" Again, speaking for the silent majority wins you no points.

Overall, just a big post of venom and bile, and no real message besides that you really, really, really don't want anyone to change how this event is running.

My opinion is that devs should warn players if they intend for anything to have a PvP element. PvP is fine. It's not for me, but many people enjoy it. And there sure as heck should be special rewards for playing PvP that can not be achieved otherwise. But allowing people to basically turn a simple event into PvP without such a statement or any warning is irresponsible. All the info I've found so far is that you turn in crystals to try to heal the gypsies and perhaps get a reward. Instead, the reality is that you need to turn them all in at once or you have nearly no chance at the reward and you are just helping others to "steal" your effort. Even gathering enough means battling other players for that "last crystal wins" concept.

The halloween event overall is a fun, enjoyable event. The devs just need to explain thier intentions on this aspect, or the arguments will continue.
