I havent played in 8 years I just came back. I have a tamer mage on siege perilous. he loos like this

eval 100
magery 100
meditatio 100
animal lore 100
taming 96.2
wrestling 94.7
resist 66.5
vet 42.6

What should I do to this?

Keep the magery
raise the taming
drop the resists
drop the wrestiling

Possibly add a barding skill or hide and stealth to the mix.
Resists aren't gonna do you much good. Its the pet doing the fighting.
The wrestling thing went out not long after you left.
Taming needs to be at least 105 to be able to control some of the new high tames.
Need to raise the vet and lore too. Vet will be fine at 100 but lore I would go too 105 also (helps with control). If you want the extra stable slots you can use jewels, just remove them after you do your stabling.
By all means, listen to others here. I am not a expert but that is what I would suggest to change.

I plan on doing a decent amount of PvPing with this char.

I was thinking of droping med and vet.

My thinking is I should be able to hold my own with or without the pet. And healing the pet/meditating probably not gonna win/lose me to many fights.

PS. I have been gone for 8 years so, I am relearning everything right now.

I know this is probably a silly question but can you res a bonded pet with the spell rather than bandages?

thoughts?

You can't rez pets with any spells so far, you will still need vet. Med you could make up for with choice armor with mr, which isn't that hard to find, so you shouldn't have that much problem replacing it, considering there is no insurance on seige. I would still suggest using hide and stealth as extras on that template, just remember not to tell your pet to follow if it gets killed. The ghost will follow you, but it will also reveal your location to anyone around and can be easily revealed by any nearby mage.
A good skill to add in (if you have the room) is spellweaving. Its a stand alone skill and does not require eval. There is quite a few good spells that can be used there. The only drawback is that some are real mana killers.
If you intend to do some PvM, as well as PvP, the spellweaving will allow you to cast 1 natures fury as well as 2 EVs. Word of Death is also a good spell. It can do as much as 150 damage.
I do very little PvP, mainly I use stealth to get into champ spawns and to stealth out when finished, but on the rare occasion that I get interupted, I usually allow my pet to distract my target while I cast on them/stealth around and cast from new location.

80 vet and lore to rez a pet. The resurection spell won't do it. And 110 taming and lore to control a greater dragon. You can cut back on the med if you substitute mana regen on items.

The only way to res a pet is by vet, so I would take it to at least 90 and lock it there. You could leave it at 80 which is the min to res but you will waste alot of bandies doing that.
