Five on Friday versus "ask the devs" forum

Dear UO Team:

First of all, those of you who are still there, congratulations on your "survival."

The "ask the devs" forum here on Stratics is a good idea.

However, I would urge you to not look on it as a replacement for the Five on Friday, or some other method of communicating with us players via the UO Internet site and/or log-on screen.

This is for the simple reason that Stratics not only doesn't reach every player, or even most of the players, but the players that it does reach are from what I can tell not statistically representative of UO players. Even players such as myself who do read and post here sometimes take extended breaks from it. During those breaks, I depend upon communications from the site.

Yeah, I feel sorry for the people who read all threads. I think its a bigger waist of time then sitting at yew gate for a fair fight. Or maybe looking for pvp on my shard. Maybe I have been reading too much bs and havent been looking enuf. U do the math or maybe right me a program so I can get that calculated.

I understood the thread as a medium from which to draw FOF questions - not a replacement. I think the idea is to bring together all of the dev-specific questions to one place, so they don't have to spend as much time sorting through thread questions that can be easily answered by other players.

There are a number of questions that spring to mind.

1. Are Mythic going to publish the answered questions through UOHerald as well as on here? I don't know, I have not been informed of their plans. I, like the rest of the players, will have to wait and see.

2. Are Mythic undertaking a similar project with other fansites? I don't know, I have not been informed of their plans. I have no right to expect that they would inform me of such a decision.

I don't know the full extent of this project, only the part that directly affects me as ME of uo Stratics. I have done my best to provide what I was asked for, working in the way EA wish it to work.
Just because 'Stratics' is all we currently see, let's not assume that 'Stratics' is all there is?
