Fishing Quests In The Abyss

Ive been trying to do the quests where you have to catch a red herring and a mud puppy but i can figure out what im doing wrong. I tried to fish on my mage but i never caught anything... am i fishing in the wrong spot (by the rat's) or do you need the fishing skill?

Are you fishing in the Abyss? I made this mistake by fishing at the Cavern for an hour, Then I went and tried to fish in the Underworld and got a red herring first time.

I do not, but i hear you need it... i was gonna try in the abyss cause thats where it says to fish. But if you got one in the underworld part then ill get on my fisher and try it out.

My fisher is GM. If your not getting a fish within 15 minutes, something is up. I can't say you need to be GM but fishing skill is needed.

Yeah you need a real fisher, also, you don't need the quest to fish one up on said fisher, and I think you can even get white pearls down there, PLUS there is an arty down there for thieves anddddddd no sea serpents ever pop up.

I went into the room with the undead and ran into the first sparkles on the west wall and it took me to a small area of land were i can fish without anything attacking me... My fishing pole bent and i got a red harring can i get mud puppys here too?

thats where i caught my mud puppy and herring in 5 mins each try.... GM Fishing

I only have 90.7 fishing and ive got 2 red herring so far but no mud puppys yet.

I turned in my quest and am still able to fish up the new fish! And I've gotten a few white pearls in my time down there as well

my gm fisher got some red herrings and mud puppys there, with and without the quests
and white pearls

and lots and lots of shoes

no sea serpents popped up.

kraken spawns a little further away
