Dear Devs, with some difficulty - as my credit card is not getting accepted at your shops - I managed to get one upgrade code for one of my three accounts through a friend that has access to a third party website offering those codes for a high price.
I actually enjoyed trying out all the new stuff, pirate hunting in groups is big fun - also the new fishing system looks very promising.
However - there are a few issues with it that will stop me further spending endless hours on it, and also stops me consindering to upgrade my other 2 accounts.
My experiences - and why I think things are not working as they should:
I have done more than 150 fishing quests by now, not cancelling them if I get any hard to fill ones, and recently I had quite a few with 6 orders to fill. After about 70 or 80 quests, I received a 105 scroll - the only fishing scroll I have seen so far - not even a second 105 scroll I received.
Training up to 105 skill was not the problem, mainly gaining from fishing and lobster catching in deep water, but .....
As apparently noone else received a 110 scroll yet, I just cant see a point in carrying on any further. With this drop rate - no matter if 105 or 110 fishing scrolls, I cannot see me ever getting to 110 or beyond - there is not even a chance to bind any 105s as I don't get them.
Filling the higher end quests takes a long time now, as certain kinds of lobsters take very long to get - even with using the Fishing Co-op we have set up on Europa to exchange fish and crustacea that are needed to fill the orders.
The drop rate of special fishing eqipment is very low - cosidering that the loss rate of lava lobster traps is so high as it was described by other players - this is also very frustrating and stops me to want to go any further here .....
What I plan to do now: catching some of the rare fish - the ones I can get with my 105 fishing skill to get some of the new pies ( just hoping that at least those will be made stackable soon) - and then I will stop fishing completely and wait to see if we get any nice events for Halloween.
So - dear Devs - unless something in the dropping system for fishing scrolls changes dramatically - my fisher on my main account will stay on her 105 skill till the end of Ultima Online - and my other fisher on a different account on another shard - I do not even consider upgrading this account, as I cannot see the point in going through this once again ......
Anybody making similar experiences - feel free to sign or discuss.
