Fisher Mage temp?

Will a Mage make a good Fisher? if so what would be a good temp?

Anything can make a good fisher, the deep sea SERPS you pull are easy to put down. The challenge will be when you hit 120 and start throwing nets for scalis, or fishing for Charybdis, then you need backup and a decent template.

As for Mage, I'd go with a spell weave Mage, word of death will be your friend..

Reptile slayer spellbook will allow you to easily kill sea serpents.

My fisher mage template

120 Fishing
120 Magery
120 Evaluate Intelligence
100 Mysticism
100 Focus
100 Inscription
60 Med (slowly putting 40 of it into focus and mysticism)

Equipment:
Spell-channeling fishing pole (mine has +med, but anything template related would be good)
Water elemental slayer book (reptile or snake slayer is really overkill with that much eval and inscription) for net tosses (getting rid of the water eles quickly with a chain lightning makes the nets a lot easier)

If All you wanna do is kill sea serps.
Then all you basically need is enough magery to recall.
And a nice pair of vollems
For tougher stuff, you might wanna use a template like basara's.
A badass fisherman with a GD, would probberly also work.

My fisherman template is.

120 magery
120 eval
120 medi
120 resist
120 wrestling
xxx fishing/scribe (I swap as needed)

I use a pair of vollems..
All guard me And fish away.

They most certainly do. I only have gm mage on my fisherman. Armed with a reptile slayer 3 hits and a sea serpent is down.

Grab a Snake Slayer and it'll only take 2....
