Fish and raw fish steaks do not stack! Pets that *prefer* fish are not eating them!

Fish have taken over my boat and backpack! When I get sea serpents I can use the corpse to eliminate some of the fish but what do I do until then? Thought I could buy a cat and feed it fish after all fish is their preferred food according to animal lore but NOPE it wont eat it. I switch to a tamer and tried to feed a fish to a bear but it wont eat the fish either.

I tested goats they will eat the footwear but not the fish or raw fish steaks.

I tested goats they will eat the footwear but not the fish or raw fish steaks.

Just for a lark.....
Not to let my concept of npc goat go incomplete.
I logged in with my fisher person. (70.2 skill wow! Feel the glo!)
Traveled west of brit gy and found a feral goat which I tamed using 0 skill.
Now heres the deal. I dropped a pouch of fished up goods on to the goat and
wallah! Pouch and all contents were gone and the goat was happier!
Non chopped fish. In a pouch.
Said goat is now stabled with intent to Bond.
Ahhh. Now i can sleep tonight.....

Been an issue since High Seas launched, Devs don't seem to understand the problem.

I think I know what is the root of the fish steak problem...

There have always been TWO fish steaks in the code.

One is the currently broken one from the legacy fish.

The other was the fish steak one gets from cutting up a sea serpent, used to NOT stack with the other fish steaks - but now it does.

My guess is that all the new fish and the altered Big Fish were coded to use the Sea Serpent's "fake" fish steak, and in the process they goofed up the legacy fish and their fish steaks. That, or they accidentally swapped the code on them.

As for the Fish themselves not stacking, that's another matter.

personally i would just dump em on the ground. let dog sort it out...
