After the remarkable false start yesterday I visited the abyss today with a pure mage - not without praying to the UO-gods and Mr. Murphy: "Please no shard crash....please no shard crash...."
Well, gods are in good temper and Mr. Murphy still sleeping Found another guy, Lord Vincent Lecava [TUK] at the entrance to the Abyss and together we made our way through. Good thing Vincent was with me, he seemed quite familiar with those vast tunnels. I get easily lost, hehe.
I've heard before that this undead guy with the third key and the cloak is camped, but there was nobody here first. Right after we both got the key and a cloak a well-known farmer showed up with his GD. Must be my lucky day, indeed. Down to the abyss... What a big dungeon! Run past the slasher of the veil (anybody managed to kill that one?) some bridges, tomb of kings and finally: Ter Mur! I felt a sense of accomplishment like ... going from Brit to Yew alive in the old days.
Overall a refreshing experience - dev team!
Vincent had to leave and me was fooling around the abyss a bit longer, found some crazy ratmen, killed a ratman chief (lots of hp!), tried the slasher and tested my GM running skills here, got my mysticism spellbook, bought the learning books for mining gems and basket weaving and finally called it a day.
Here is the loot bag after 2 hours:
These scales are pretty! Ohh, and another smart move from the dev team:
See the color? Same as the robe you get from the undead thing with the third key. I think it was loot from the ratmen. A lot new items and I have no clue for what they are... Time will tell. Just one question:
What are this good for? Looks pretty. To bad we cannot lock down this green bubbles.
Anyway, excuse my rubbish english and have fun! I had a heck of a good time!
