Fire Beetle looks much better now!

Just logged my miner in and the Fire Beetle is no longer that horrific neon yellow that blinded you (Using EC). They actually look pretty cool now. I guess they did some new art work

I took a screen shot, but no idea how to post it here....lol
Maybe one of the more tech-savvy players could post one.

You could up load the pic to a pic hosting site like photobucket.com and then place the URL in your post. That site also has other pic linking options too, I believe.

There's an Attachment process for new posts and the "Go Advanced" form of replies and editing, that can be used if people would just look for them.

For that matter "Go Advanced" for editing also is where one can find the ability to delete your own post (note that Mods CAN'T delete posts - only the posters and MAYBE the admins).

I don't really see this as an "improvement"... at least not over what it has been further back in its history.

It's too bright, and the details are washed out to the point of non-existence.

The only real improvement is that it's multi-hued (which bodes well for future concepts) and that they added an "aura" (which isn't really caught by the screencap).

Personally I liked it BEFORE they wiped out all of the detail and turned it bright(er) yellow, then an orange blob.

But then I've NEVER been a fan of "pure" colors in game anyway. Surfaces have textures which creates various shades and hues of colors which in turn creates DETAIL.

We are talking about the same art team who just gave us those hideously ugly giant bathmats... what do you expect??? Heck they can't even program them to be able to be turned from one facing to another... we have to waste an entire reward deciding what the flip facing we want ...... god forbid we might redesign our home or.... *gasps* Move!

Lol "Injected it with Plutonium" That is too funny, but exactly what it looked like.

Thats what I am saying--that the current "Fire Beetle" art is much better than the previous "Fire Beetle" art. Could it be better, Sure, but I at least appriciate that they fixed the Plutonium Injected eye sore!

i dont think that they "improved" anything. a few threads back you will notice after the snow A LOT of people are haveing washed out colors. Some days i log on and all colors are normal...the next i log on and htey are all washed out, with details being less defined also.

I think you're thinking too hard

It's a "fire beetle" ... just cooks those ingots like a forge maybe chews on them or puts it under its wings or something ;P

Yeah, it looks crappy, I just made it black and white and messed with the levels.
I'm sure they could make it look cool.

Is this the only monster that uses this model? Giant beetles are different right? I do think its weird how its clearly a model that has been paint bucketed with neon orange.

All the other SA monsters have their own non uniform color scheme. Take the deathwatch beetle (while we are speaking of bugs) for example. It looks terrific, and has lots of colors.

Well, you can just imagine it in your mind!
