Finishing Balrons

When fighting Balrons with my Cu they get down to ~15% health then start to Flee, at this point my pet then has real trouble pathing to the Balron. At some points the Balron will stop moving and my Pet just stares at it, if I do"all follow me" then "all kill" my pet will go back to the same spot and not attack the Balron till it moved.

I've also noticed the problem with Dragons and Daemons as well but its most noticeable with Balrons because it takes longer for my pet to finish them off once they start fleeing. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about.

Can anyone recommend a trick to get my pet to strike the killing blows?

My tamer has Magery (no eval int) and Peacemaking

Since you have peace, peace it just before it redlines. That should stop it from flying off most of the time.

Alternatively, ebolt (mindblast if no eval) the balron when it starts running.

Final option, use a pet that can cast spells/breath fire.

I suspect that this is because the bally begins to fly, in which case it is inaccessable to your pet. Same goes for dragons, demons, and other creatures who fly. My advice is either a) use a pet with a ranged attack (i.e., magery) or b) use mind blast, which requires no eval int, to finish them off.

Didnt know mind blast doesnt require eval rolleyes:
I only tried to peace after it flies which only seemed to make it worse :)
Also, greater dragon bonds this coming Saturday morning so that should help as well
