finding 9th age upgrade

Is there a place online that i can purchase an upgrade code for the 9th age expansion? Or will upgrading to the stygian abyss open it up? Really want all the housing tile's open for use.

None that I know of. You have to find a copy of the 9th anniversary package on a store shelf somewhere.
Best way to find that would be to search inventory of gamestop.com in your surrounding zip codes.

I'd recommend ebay. there's someone selling one right now (new in package) for $12 (at least as of yesterday). that's where i have bought 3 9th anniversary boxes over the past year (usually for closer to $20). i have also heard that some EB Games stores have copies - I'd call first and ask them to check the back room. It's the only way to get the crystal and shadow housing tile sets.

So why buy 9AE if you might like some of the bonuses that SA gives; for instance, more housing tiles.

(The only reason I'm not positive is because you are talking about an "Anniversary" edition.. Yet I am almost positive that with UO you will get access to everything that previous 'expansions' offer as long as you just buy the most recent one. The problem is I bought both 9AE and SA, so I cannot 100% confirm this, yet I am 96.876% sure that buying SA will give you access to all the housing tiles that 9AE has, as well as the new stuff that is in SA.)

SA expansion does give you access to everything... except for the crystal and shadow housing tiles. You HAVE to use a 9th anniversary upgrade code for that. I have no idea why those two things were left out. In the past, any expansion gave you access to everything available in previous expansions, whether you bought them or not. I don't know if it was an oversight, or what.

This would be an excellent quest to ask in the "Ask the Dev's" Sub Forum here in UO Hall. In all honesty one should have access to all tiles if they purchase the latest Upgrade code, be nice to know why they don't allow this on the 9th Anni one.

yep, sa upgrade definitely does not give you access to the crystal/shadow tiles. which bites. i bought a 9th box for my 3 main accounts just so their houses could be built with shadow tiles.

edit - i should add that 2 of my accounts have been upgraded since the 9th box came out and were recently upgraded to SA. the 3rd account was not upgraded to 9th anni or 7th char slot because i was hoping both would eventually be included in a future expansion. but when i upgraded that account to SA and realized neither were part of it, i bought both.

Pretty sure the Japan store has 9th Anni upgrade..or at least the crystal/shadow tile sets.

risso - could it be possible that the japan store just sells the actual sets of crystal and shadow items that come in deed form? well, token form originally. i think people that pre-ordered 9th anni got the full set via token, and people that didn't just received one random deed in their pack in a wooden box in addition to a round coin thingy.

I recently (two weeks ago) purchased a ninth anniversary from Gamestop (retail) it was $20. It came with crystal and shadow item set deeds.

I'm having this issue right now. One of my accounts that was upgraded for the 9th Anni no longer shows that it is, I suspect it has something to do with upgrading to SA. I still need to obtain one for my 2nd account and the last time I checked they were over $50... =(

They were looking into fixing the 9th anniversary mess when Jeremey (did I spell her name right?) was still here. I remember her commening on it because people kept bringing it up and finally there was a half answer. As you can see, they apparently are still working on it. None of the stores near me have it in stock and the nearest place beyond that is 1.5 hours away. I saw it on Amazon recently for $50. Not happening.

If memory serves me right, you did get a box of shadow or crystal items. But you also got access to the shadow and crystal housing tiles, they were two totally separate things that came with the 9th box.

At one time they commented they were looking into this, but couldn't figure out how to add them to all upgraded accounts? Been a while, memory is hazy, but that sounds like what I read *grins*
