Finally! The scrappers recipe!

A day after asking my guild if anyone could make one, I obtained the recipe on a tinkers quest. Of course, i don't have any of the components except for the scrolls and 1 piece of corruption. two questions that I have
(1) on a couple of sites (not stratics), the scrappers is listed as having +10 Meditation as part of its base properties. Is this incorrect?
(2) The failure rate is pretty high. If you fail, will it only eat your scrolls or can you possibly lose the dread horn mane/corruptions/taints?

regardless, it's time to ask my guild to go on a few adventures in Twisted Weald!

i believe +10 Mediation is an additional properties.
See thread further down titled Scrappers Compendium?.

Failure only eat up scrolls. major ingredient is untouched.
Phew! Would hate to lose those.

Glad to hear only scrolls would be lost! I was a bit worried about that. I saw the post regarding scrappers. In fact, everything on Stratics seemed to indicate that meditation isn't part of the standard scrappers. the main reason I wasn't sure was because of http://www.uo.com/uoml/crafting.html . If course, this wouldn't be the first time I was burned by outdated "official" documentation!

what is this tinkerers quest you speak of which you got recipe from? I would love to try to obtain one! What skill tinkerer did u have?

That refers to the crafting quests available in Heartwood (or whatever the name of the elf city is, all the goofy ML names run together in my mind). I think the tinkers' quests are kind of a catch-all, where you can get a few different kinds of recipes (can't you get alchemy recipes from the tinkers, also?).

You can get alchemy recipes, carpentry recipes, scrappers, one smithing recipe, and I'm not sure but I think also all 3 tailor recipes. Fletching and Smithy get their own crafting quests, everyone else has to share and therefore get stuff they probably don't want.

The quests are from different npcs wine tenders and grape tenders have quests for 25 keg taps, 50 potion bottles and 10 fancy wind chimes (these take either too many resources or are too difficult to make). The Trinket weaver npcs have quests for 20 lap harps, 10 clocks, 20 spyglasses, 10 studded bustiers, 10 foot stools, and 10 tinker tools. Obviously the tinker tool quest is the best from a resource/carry capacity standpoint, and since the rewards are the same no matter what quest you do its worth it to just decline the others and wait for the tinker tool quest. Heck the tinker tool quest doesn't even waste a tool, just give him the used one with 1 use left and keep a good one you just made.
