The one thing I liked about Polar ethys, and most other people too, was that they were white. Now some strange person at EA/Mythic has decided that they need to be dirty looking; not every Polar in the game of course, just the ethys.

I find it somewhat hilarious that of all the fixes that are needed in the new expansion this is what they focus on.

Its a sign that the UO ice caps are melting, must be global warming. Polar bears with no snow means they lose there colour and turn yellowish.

The retouching tool simply switches the mount's hue from transparent to default. Until your screen shots, I don't think any of us realized the polar bear's default hue was yellowish.

So fear not. That's a minor fix. We'll even do the bleaching for you!

Well, I am glad to hear that it was not intentional. If you haven't been off your Polar ethy since the latest publish then they are still the original white color; they do have slight shadowy areas, but not brown ones.

The screen shots show the EC version, which at best is not so good. If you want a clean white Polar then you have to play the Classic client.

There is a lot for players to be frustrated about sure... but I see you get slammed over and over with ******** accusations that you guys are trying to destroy the game on purpose... And in response you always explain what the problem is, and that you guys are more then willing to get it fixed. Thank you so much for your constant hard work, and for all the time you take to answer questions and respond to concerns... it is SOOOOO appreciated!!!

I know all too well how it feels when you see changes happening in the game that you disagree with and you don't understand why because no one will tell you. And when people are passionate about something, they can go a little over the top with expressing their discontent.

With a game as big and complex as UO and especially a game that lasted this many years, any change you make has a big chance of impacting a billion things that are seemingly totally unrelated. So when funky things happen, it very likely is an unintended side effect and not some evil plot from the Devs to sabotage their own game and aggravate their players.

I think most of us are aware that you (devs) do not sit around in your crushed velvet smoking jackets, puffing on pipes... twisting your mustaches.. plotting to hatch evil schemes to make us angry. I do not try to insinuate that when I post. But I am passionate about the game and have no problems letting that spring.

With that said I do appreciate that we get so much attention. No other game that I have played can boast the level of interaction we see from the devs. It makes this game more personal gives it the impression that we all work together to make UO what it is today. And you do play your own game.

In fact I know this is going to sound strange but I think the game wouldn't be nearly as fun if everthing was implimented flawlessly. Look at (some) true rares, a coding error for most part that spawned an entire sub-culture in the game. How many systems were influenced by that alone? You can not plan that sort of thing... walking char statues... hilarious!... bad I know but hilarious!
