I kind of feel bad though...our MC raid leader, and rogue officer had me on Threshold DKP, but bid on a Blastershot Launcher, which put him and I together. We were short a healer, so I had been running my wife's Priest thru MC, and missed a CHT, and 5 NS drops, of which I'd probably have bid on 2, and I had enough thresh to get 'em both.

Anyhow, long story short, we get to Rag, another priest logs in, and someone else leaves, so I can log in my rogue, we blow thru Rag, and sure enough Perditions Drops. 1-Him, 2-Me, he's frantically sending me whispers, asking me not to roll, even though 20 minutes before he was telling me that he would take the rifle for the sole purpose of letting me roll, because I ran the team player route and healed.

Sure enough 2 comes up, and I've got my Perditions Blade, I remind him that I passed Brutality Blade to him awhile ago, when we were both sword rogues, and it's all good.

Moral of the story ?

If you are rogue, DONT EVER BID ON BLASTERSHOT LAUNCHER !

Yay, grats!

I'm not even close to Perdition's, I haven't done much MC. My guild has dkp/credits for 40 man instances and for the 20 man instances. We've still to see either Fang of the Faceless or the the AQ20 dagger drop, and I got a good shot at those.

I feel kind of lucky that we dont have a 20-man DKP, we've done random rolls in ZG and AQ20 based on need. We've also been rotating people in and out, where I used ZG to fill a few equipment spots, and then let other folks use those runs.

With an active group, we run ZG/AQ20 Friday/Sat/Monday, so usually we have enough people to make up a WSG or AB group as an alternate event, and then the "harder core" folks raid the 40-man's Sunday/Tuesday/Wed/Thurs.

Plus, for new recruits, the ZG runs are great, give them some experience, and bulk up on gear for their time into the 40 mans.

I still don't see how people could roll over epic loot in raids... With 5% droprate or so it could take indefinitely before the item you need/want to drop, and if a "newbie" comes in and win the roll I know my motivation would be low to "help out" in the future. And how do you handle coins/idols etc?

My guild is only doing ZG, AQ20, MC and with little progress in BWL, so gear from the 20 man instances is important for us.

Let me see how I can explain, because it's not just a random roll, and not just anyone can get an item.

Basically, we base it on DKP earned. In this example, the Rogue Leader had around 40 points earned, and I had 35.5. The way we do it, we use the Nurfed set values for items, so Perditions is worth 36.159. Anyone who wants to bid, has to be within 5 points of the person with the most DKP bidding. Therefore, anyone with less than 35 points could not bid. This way, no new raider could have received that item. So when the loot is "auctioned off" anyone wishing to bid sends the master looter a whisper, with a simple !bid. He ticks off anyone wanting, checks the DKP, and sees who is allowed to roll on the item. Assigns the roll values, and rolls it. This way, if you really want an item, you can save for it, and if nobody is within 5 points of you, it's threshold, and yours automatically. It also gives a chance to people who are very reasonably close.

AQ20 and ZG loots we've pretty much just rolled off, we've been incredibly good to date in trying to put the guild needs ahead of any individual wants. In that we figure getting more gear to more people speeds our progress.

Coins and Idols, well, ZG are pretty much in the bank, and are handed out to people who want them, simply because the with our progressions, we've got plenty of MC loot out, so people wanting ZG is relatively low. For AQ, same thing, it goes to the guild bank, and will get distributed from there. Nobody has had a problem with it so far, especially since we like seeing crafters get the benefits first, which get's some nice gear for the rest of us.

I see, seems to be a sensible system. Still got some chance in it to allow for other players too. Only problem I see if the player with the most points doesn't get it, he will of course have a bigger chance next time but with low drop rates this could take quite some time. We have a simple bidding round with total available points, so if you *really* want the item you can work hard to get it, but mostly people pass up on gear if someone needs it more/has more use for it.
