[Archery] Figuring damage I deal to DF

I have an ABC archer.

My total non-slayer damage output is 78 with items.

When fighting the DF, I use a demon slayer bow with +48 to damage.

I always use EoO as well (+50).

My question is: does the demon slayer property add +100 to damage? Or what exactly is the figure? UOGuide says it just doubles the damage .. but how is that calculated? Your total damage with items + double that for the slayer stackign?

You can theoretically double your damage output with a slayer but remember that your total damage output in pvm is limited to 300%. So if your using EOO, perfection, high di equipement, etc... your total damage using a slayer may put you over the 300% limit.

I would say to look at the weapon you are using as well, versus whatever resist the monster is weak to. I had a good demon slayer weapon with 60fire/40 poison on it and seemed to work the best against Dark Father...but it's been a while so I don't know if that's still effective.

Weapon output still is a big deal. You might say have a slayer and be able to do 156 damage on him but if I have higher SSI on my bow which is 35 SSI, I can do slightly more damage over time.

It is like you have said, but it won't go over the 300% limit in PvM like GFY said. The reason you won't always hit for the same damage is due to weapon properties vs. resist...similar to uo or other games where the mob can RESIST some of the spell or weapon skill damage.

But if you really want to get an idea how it works, it goes something like this:

EXAMPLE

Step 1: Calculate base damage for your weapon. So i.e. magical shortbow 9 -13

Step 2: Add your stats: STR over 100 gets a bonus. Figure in Tactics and Anatomy.

Calculation so far with the above weapon and 120 strength, 120 tactics, 120 anatomy would look like this with a bow that has +48 DI:

30-43 base damage. After EoO for + 50 = 60 to 86. Slayer would make double so 120 to 172 damage.

This is just an example mind you but basically your total DI would be real close to 300% right there. since 98 DI x 2 (double from the slayer) = around 200%.

I'm kind of tired so my math might not be completely correct but it gives you an idea. A GOOD composite bow or heavy cross bow slayer will start you at higher base damage to start with...which can figure in to higher damage output if the swing speed is comparable, the DI is comparable and slayer element is applicable.

Dark Fathers have 30 in all resists, so your weapon's elemental spread doesn't really factor in.

Yeah I know, you are correct. I was just giving an example of a bow I used on him. But yes I know...not like some mobs who are VERY strong in a particular resist category. I just wanted to give the poster an idea as to why you won't hit for the same amount each time AND the capability there is to do great damage against him.

Abyssmal Horror for example would be ridiculous to use a high resist fire made weapon since his fire resist is 100%.
