Fighting Ogre Lords without a dirt nap, how?

While not a total newbie, I have concentrated on Crafting with my play time. I have been working on a PvM Swords/Chiv/parry for a while now, and am to the point where E.Ele's and Ettins are 2 hit wonders. But, when I go downstairs to the OgreLord "Island", it isn't pretty. When I try to go toe to toe I usually get 1 or 2 wacks in for 35-40 (EoO, ConcWeap) before I get creamed for close to 50; and have to run. Well, I can do it but dang it takes forever. My question is how do the folks stand Toe To TOE and take them out in just a few swings? I'm at 108 Sw, and 98 Parry, with like 60 Phy Resist. Is there a trick I don't know?

Thanks!

Are you using a Repond Slayer as well? Soul Seeker - let the leeches help you as much as they can!!

I have yet to tackle an OL in this incarnation, but previously I did (pre-AoS Swords dexer). I used hit and run tactics whenever possible and actually would lure them to the more open space off the island - if there wasn't one there already. Thus plenty of running room.

Run off - heal, double-click health bar as I run toward it - hoping I actually hit instead of whiff. Rinse/repeat for frickin' ever.

Okay, with your skills you should really be able to take down an ogre lord, and it shouldn't be too much of a challenge.

You need 70 physical however. A GM made dull copper archer suit is dirt cheap and gives you 70 phys. With this you should be taking no more than about 30 damange per hit form OL (at the very most). I just tested there with my 70 physical resist suit, the char i used has no parry and i was only taking 20 damage per hit..

Secondly, the weapon you use is all important. The perfect weapon for ogre lords is the soulseeker. Its lightning quick, a repond slayer so you get good damage and it has good life and stamina leech which will keep you topped up in addition to your bandies while you stand toe to toe.

If your on Europa and need help getting kitted out for this, drop me a PM, I will be able to help and i have a spare soulseeker if you need one too.

Thanks folks!

I happen to have picked up a SoulSeeker on the recommendation of helpful posters on this board. I didn't think it would work on OLords (Duh!). Yeah, I'll get the resist to 70 also and give it another go. Thanks again!

Not sure what other skills are on your template, but the Paladin template I play has healing on it. Just set up a macro for self heal and it comes in very handy (as long as you don't run outta bandies that is...). Good luck.

Thanks all. With 70 physical, and Soul Seeker I usually get hit 2-3 times per Lord, and am able to heal while toe to toe. I appreciate the help, as my Krama gains had been feeble lately to say the least!

utilize as much DCI as possible, and look around for an orge slayer weapon with hit lower attack. even with just the DCI, you can slug it out with an orge lord much longer as their attacks miss a lot more than not. with hit lower attack on top of it, you may only get hit once out of 5 orge lords.

you can really tune a suit to dominate orge lords, as you really only have to worry about physical resist.

If you want to really own them....find one of those double slayer broad swords....I occasionally see them for sale between 3-10 mil.

Find one with
Ogre Slaying
Repond Slaying

Cast EoO and BAM...you are 2-3 hit killing Ogre Lords...
