The only way I have found is by luring it out of the area to the jail area where the single executioner and mad mage spawn. Throw the GD on it... gift of renewal, gheal and vet like mad. Also kill off those blobs he spawns as fast as you can. They drop decent loot as well.

I've found that so long as I keep the other spawn away, I don't have to worry quite as much about healing. It's a long fight, but not crazy. I also don't see the reason to killing off the stuff he spawns aside from the loot, it's never attacked me or my dragon.

They have dropped some fantastic loot when I am running around 2500 luck.

The cauldrons can be destroyed using a bladed weapon before they turn into the maggots, which makes the fight easier.

The cake recipe is bugged though. Sometimes trying to remove pieces informs you that your pack is full, even though it isn't.

FYI to all of you the Cauldrons he drops on the ground that spawn the scum monsters work much like the DF's bones.... Cut them up and you won't have NEAR the problem.

Go with a group 2 or 3 buddies with you designate one of them to cutting up the Cauldrons...

Sampire with an ogre slayer... Not an easy fight, but can be done with a little bit of dancing around if you get too low on life. Add in a bard running the peace songs and throwing some heals it gets pretty easy.

No quest, it was just added to his loot table.

From what I can tell it drops everytime so someone should have it on their vendors soon enough at a decent price... eventually... Personally I'd just wait till it comes to a reasonable price or just get a group together who all want it as well and knock out a few of them.

just went in last night with a guild mate.
was easy as..... cake?

2 tamers with greaters and i had a pure bard on a 2nd comp.
i was provo'ing anything else that came around (mages, wolfs, executioners)
didnt even bother with the maggot piles, all they do is drop goo that slows you down.

we pulled 6 recipe's out in under a hour last night.
i must say, they are kinda neat!
i dyed this one black.
