hi there, i used to play ultima online a while back, just coming back now, been back for a week but i havent been able to indulge in my favourite uo past time. i used to love going to the dungeons of shame with my tamer/mage and doing some serious damage, but since returning i have been unable to sort out this new macro system. as far as saying things goes, i can sort them out easy enough, but casting spells? can you still macro that? and using bandages? i tried the use last item one, didnt seem to work? also couple things i have noticed, my dragon keeps flying, even when stationary it has its wings out and all. is this just the client? strange though. last thing, were does everyone hang out these days? i have been loitering around britain, but have only seen one person in the week i have been back?
any help would be most appreciated.

Luna is the city where most people hang out these days. By most people, I mean up to a dozen people who are usually afk. Luna is in the facet of Malas, if you can access it.

This forum might answer the bulk of your questions regarding using the new game client.

The basic rule is you can drag an icon (from your spellbook, skill list, character sheet, action list, etc) and drop it in a hotbar slot. From there you can set the desired target if applicable. You use it by single-clicking the icon, or you can bind a keystroke to it. Just about everything has a rightclick or shift-rightclick list of options, so you may want to have a poke about with that & see what's what.

Using items such as bandages is similar; you can drag the bandages to a slot and set the target to self whatever you need. Doing it that way you also get a count of how many bandages you have. There's also a macro editor box for creating more sophisticated macros, accessed from the main menu (click the gears icon or hit Esc).

As you're a tamer you might want to explore the "target saved" option, lets you macro bandaging specific pets etc. Oh, and check out Greater Dragons as pets, they're ridiculously tough.

Hope this is enough to get you started.
