Hi there, I got a old thief that I dusted off and decided to try a spot of PvP. So far I have 120 fencing, stealth 100 tactics hiding and poison but unsure where to go for rest. Would heal and Anat be a good choice or would I be better with bushido?? Would be nice if I could spawn too but not sure how viable that is. Ta.

considered that but thinking unless I kill em in opening mana dump I dead anyway so was thinking of healing stuff but guess I could go resist and rest in bushido.

The #1 question for any template for any purpose (other than mule)... how do you want to heal?

Options on a nox/Fencer... (in relation to PvP)
Because you don't need tons of SSI/Stam with Fencing (you don't even really need Tactics if you just want to deliver Poison, hit spells and Splintering) it makes a good option for 4/6 Chiv. Which I recall being particularly good with Med/Resist otherwise you get Vamped your screwed.
Downside is the negative Karma from Poisoning affects the positive Karma needed for Chiv.

Spellweaving isn't effective enough to live off on it's own.

Ninjitsu, for Death Strike would compliment the Hiding/Stealth you already have, and you have ranged Poison with darts/stars, Animal Form and a bunch o other things that can be useful when used right.

For the longest time I was fairly anti-bandages in PvP considering them too slow, and too easily interrupted, but classic templates are stronger these days and even 80/80 Heal/Anat (or 70/70 with Enhanced Bandages) can be more than enough, especially if you intend to hit and run (and hide).

I think basically it comes down to Bandage/Ninja, or Deathsrike/hit and run (I'd consider some gimpy no Tactics version here if the points were an issue), as soon as you go on the defensive on a dexxer (i.e. healing yourself with spells) you're going to lose. The other options allow you to stay on the offence.

I also wouldn't overlook Alchemy, and max E.P. with either above option.

^^ as he said, and do consider alchemy/poisoning. its a very powefull combo, since u "auto" cure with poisoning skill (most levels that is).
For healing skill to work well you would need 140 dex to heal at max, those points are better spend in INT so u can squeze in that extra AI.
I would however keep tactics, for those specials, and add bushido for that frenzy ww special as well.

Hmmm food for thought. Have to do sometesting as have some skills stoned to have a try of. Never played an assassin though but thinking I like idea of bandage / tactics to allow some pvm and stuff. Thanks guys.

Stealth Fencers are a cramped as hell template, even without Poisoning. I have an old (pre-Tram) Stealth Fencer, haven't updated his template since i put Ninjitsu on him when SE came out. His template is 120 Fencing/GM Tact/80 Anat/80 Healing/GM Hiding/GM Stealth (120 with skill bonus)/GM Ninjitsu (120 with skill bonus)/40.0 Focus.

Believe me, Stealth Archers have it 10x easier. They can attack from a 10 tile range, and so therefore don't have to risk detection by sneaking into melee range. Basically, so long as someone is on the same screen as them, a Stealth Archer can hit them. Stealth Melee are pretty useless at Yew Gate, since closing into melee range is practically impossible because everyone is running around like a chicken with their head cut off.

My Stealth Fencer sure was fun to play though before Tram (even having to count steps). Post AoS was kind of fun too, since i could sneak up to someone, mount my Ethy Llama, swap to a Lance, and suddenly burst out of the shadows and dismount them, then run them down and kill them with a War Fork or Kryss. Then they nerfed the Lance's mounted dismounts :(. Shortly before SE launched they made stealth auto-renew if you were walking, and suddenly everyone and their grandmother had a stealther.

Obviously not if they're running around constantly but... can always shadow jump next to people... just chucking that in there.

I actually prefer Stealth/Thrower. Went off Archery a long time ago.
