Fel is full of ganking bullies...

...and my God, I forgot how fun it can be.

Last night I was logged in as Oroku, my ninja. I was in 3rd level Shame killing red mages. Then I see two reds -- RobRoy and Peanut, running across the drawbridge, surely with my untimely demise on their minds.

So I quickly cast Animal form to cat (to take up small space), and position by the door and hide. They run in, and I stealth out and across the drawbridge. I then wait, a bit out of the way. They eventually come out and across the bridge. I follow them up a screen, and they say he musta recalled out (we're in Fel, genius!). One heads over to the copper ellies and one goes up north to the north elemental shore.

He fights a few fire and earth ellies, and then starts to mix it up with a PE, and gets poisoned. I walk right up behind him, and change out of Animal Form, still hidden. He gets down to half life after 2 Air Ellies flamestrike him, and then I unhide and Backstab. Three hits later he's dead.

Didn't have much on him, and I turned back into cat form and tuck myself into a corner amongst the stalagtites. Then laugh myself silly as they run all over the place looking for me.

Yes PVP can be frustrating and unfair, but it can be so amusing sometimes.

Heh, usually I am all for education in UO game mechanics, my own included, but on the off chance that the geniuses RobRoy and/or Peanut read U.Hall, I won't point out how their search for the itty bitty kitty could have been greatly aided. The safety of dungeon crawling kitties is far more important than their education.

Be well brave kitty!

Not to long ago I was using my necro to wither everything in the Vermin Horde spawn. I was trying for some 10th anniversary items, just floating around in wraith form. Then mr leet speak name comes on screen running for me. I casted pain strike on him then pushed through the mobs on the bridge. This delayed him, I then used a confusion blast potion and invoked honor. Critters turned on him and a few well placed poison strikes and he was down.

Well he started following me around trying to trash talk. Saying how he was going to get his friends to kill me, that I was a cheap lamer and crap. I will give him credit he never crossed the RoC, just was annoying. Well time passed no friends, then I noticed something his body was gone. Exorcism!

First time I ever used the spell on a ghost.

I'm amazed at how useful the cat form is. With the regen rate, night sight, the quick speed, and best of all, the compact size, it's perfect for fel crawls.

In fact, with mid-level monsters, the regen rate is such that I'm pretty much invunerable. I can go toe to toe with Poison Ellies and never drop below half a bar.

Sounds like you had a good time, I think if more people realized it's JUST a little insurance money they would enjoy coming to fel too!

Yeah, I often wonder why people consider it such a big blow to be killed by a PK in Fel.... yet think nothing of dying 5 times in Moonglow.

It costs just as much...

Oh how true that is! I have a limit on deathrobes I collect per hour...give me a pk anytime. lol

I watched several people die at least 5 times in a matter of like 15 min.
Of course that's what happens when you get a shadowlord and a berserker together.

I have been loving my stealth ninja so much i am considering re-doing my Siege mage as a stelth ninja.

Now I have to deal with the Siege RoT...I 7xGM'ed him when you could get all your gains for the day in a few minutes using the gate spell

The good news, I only need to soulstone two skills, and stealth only needs to be 80, so I only need to grind ninjitsu to 100 through RoT.....

That's the nature of PvM and PvP. In PvM you know the obstacle is designed so you have a solution to win. Even if you have a hard time (die several time), you know it's possible to win and you continue.
In PvP, the obstacle hasn't been designed by a nice dev who gave a solution to win. The obstacle is a player who doesn't want to let you win. That alone is generally sufficient to fright players, thinking they don't have a chance to win anyway. The illegal programs PvPers use to be sure to have the upper hand don't help to welcome people in Felucca.
And of course, in PvM there's a reward scaled to the difficulty of the encounter.

PVM deaths I can get my corpse back 90% of the time. PVP, I'm just plain not replacing all my bandages, pots, orange petals, regs, bags, etc. every single time I die. Way too much nuisance. In WoW I can die to PVP and be back on my feet in no time.

Cat form doesn't have night sight or a change to speed.

The hp regen is equal to ninjitsu divided by 3, which means 40 at 120 skill. Coupled with being human and 18 on items you could have 60 for 6 hp per second!

Hm, no and yes.

I forgot I have NS on my tunic... heh, I just assumed it. A cat that CAN'T see in the dark? Bah!

On the ohter hand, in KR the cat runs FAR faster than a toon on foot.

lol, yeah really. I had to go and check, I've been using ninjitsu on all sorts of templates lately and a form with night sight would be a very useful addition... I think the bake kitsune form should have it... it's eyes glow!

He come flying out of the Hut running north trying to tele over the fence I lay chase throw 2 E bolts to help hte Bake and Wala Toast. Now the Best part is the Ghost starts yelling; My whole guild is on the way I am going to kill you all, Get out of my fel, I will kill oyu every time I see you, etc. Was too funny.

Of course I can back later and in Jehlom tried to get him again, of course I didnt have a bola and had only my biggy draggie so I couldn't get him down, when I finally got tiered of tryign to corner him I came out enought nd was killed. It's not that I don't go to fel..... I do... most times without any encounter at all... very few times do I actually get into anything with anyone there. If EA could curb the use of 3rd party progams and speed hacks it might be more worth while.... but since I refuse to use any of that kinda slows me down ... Besides ... my computer is not aging gracefully..... I feel as though I may as well paint a great big target on myself....

Besides which.... I enjoy roleplay.... and I can do that on any facet.... in any ruleset. My joy in game is in the role-play community... I hunt, fish, dig for burried treasure ..... track the enemy, spy when I can.... train young Squires to be good Knights both on and off the field... sit and tell tales and have a few drinks with old friends. To each his/her own I suppose.
