The irony is I am leaving because someone did what EA does.. Only better. Because they did it Origin's way. If you know what I mean, right?

Anyway it's been a thrill.. For like.. The first 2-4 out of 12 or so years.

better off giving your gear out to your mates. Its not going to change in UO in the foreseeable future. Things are on a slippery slope. So let your mates put your stuff to good use and just be done with it, burn your bridges.

Im not being sarcastic or anything, I know how much speedhack and other 3rd party programs bother you, and I know its not going to change, its too late in the day for them to change now.

The thing which I do not understand, is how come they are not concerned about their games' reputation in regards to cheating policies.

I mean, personally, as a player and perspective buyer of future games I KNOW that I will well stay away from ANY game released by Companies that I played games of where I have a feeling that cheating was not opposed fiercely.

I do not like playing the same game where others cheat. Period.
If I have a feeling that in a game I am playing cheating is not opposed as much as it should by the Company that owns it, well, at least for me future releases from that given Company will not be even considered. Period.

So, at least for what I am personally concerned, the issue of cheating can go far and beyond the current game, it can hit also future releases that I could be interested in purchasing.

Well after reading through quite a few of Popps posts it is quite clear that he bought the High Seas expansion which WAS a future release of UO in a way and since cheating was and is very rampant even before that expansion than the quote

would be like trying to carry water in a bucket that is full of holes. What we all need to do is boycott the next expansion or even the next few expansions till Bioware Mythic gets it in their head that they need to crack down on the cheating. The only thing the company is interested in is the bottom dollar and if we stop providing that than maybe they will start to listen? This is my personal opinion and has nothing to do with the views of Stratics staff or management in general.

So they're taking measures to prevent scripters from taking advantage of newly implemented systems. I'm sure they're trying to do the same to the old systems.

Most of these threads and discussions end with either no response from the devs or a limited response that increases hopes for a few months until we realize that nothing has been changed. The most recent thing that increased our hopes was the "3rd party program detection". Since we still see players using speedhack and script programs, either the detection algorithm only detects and no measure is taken or it can not detect most of the illegal programs at all.

Perhaps he means an more original era shard rather than the UO thats presently out there Perhaps 1999-2003 Ulitma Online??
