FAQ for Magincia Event

Put your question in this thread so there aren't 100 threads.

1) Can you only win one house in Magincia? I believe that covers a lot of other similar questions.

2) Can you bid on shards which aren't your "main shard" so you can sell the land and profit?

3) If I win a Maginica plot, will that grandfather in my old house? Or, will it make it condemned?

4) When I win a plot of land, at what point will my old house become condemned (if applicable)? When I get the deed to the house or when I actually place it?

5) When I'm trying to move all my stuff into a potential Felucca house will those "big red" mobs which pwnt my mule character "go away?" Or, will it just add to the fun of having a house in Magincia. I'm not looking for a care bear town btw. A town that's always under attack can be fun.

6) Will I automatically gain massive amounts of fame and fortune by living in Magincia?

7) What benefits are there from having a "player run" town? And, how can I be in charge of it? That goes along with the question about having power.

8) Some of these plots actually look big enough to put a 18x18 house. Will the housing tool just not allow people to put anything bigger than a 15x15 in a spot?

9) IF this player run town is massively successful, what are the odds of doing another player run town in the future?

The answers of the following questions can be found on here:

1) Can you only win one house in Magincia? I believe that covers a lot of other similar questions.

Winners will be selected at random for each plot from all tickets sold for each plot’s lottery. One player may win multiple plots.

3) If I win a Maginica plot, will that grandfather in my old house? Or, will it make it condemned?

House placement in New Magincia is subject to all normal house placement rules. Placing a new house in New Magincia will cause that account’s other houses, if any, to become condemned. All other house placement rules still apply.

4) When I win a plot of land, at what point will my old house become condemned (if applicable)? When I get the deed to the house or when I actually place it?

1) Can you only win one house in Magincia? I believe that covers a lot of other similar questions.
If you only buy tickets on one you will only win one.

If you buy tickets on all of them you could win them all.

2) Can you bid on shards which aren't your "main shard" so you can sell the land and profit?
If you have the gold to buy tickets on other shards then go for it, but keep in mind that any shard that is so empty that you can walk in and scoop up a Magincia plot you may not have much of a market in which to sell it.

3) If I win a Maginica plot, will that grandfather in my old house? Or, will it make it condemned?
Once you win you have a month to place your Magincia house before the plot becomes open land that anyone can place on. Once you place your Magincia house the normal rules of house placement kick in. No Grandfathering.

4) When I win a plot of land, at what point will my old house become condemned (if applicable)? When I get the deed to the house or when I actually place it?
Normal housing rules apply to Magincia housing. Once you place your Magincia house you start the decay timer on your other house.

5) When I'm trying to move all my stuff into a potential Felucca house will those "big red" mobs which pwnt my mule character "go away?" Or, will it just add to the fun of having a house in Magincia. I'm not looking for a care bear town btw. A town that's always under attack can be fun.
This sounds like a rhetorical question. If you're in Fel you can be attacked at any time. If I were you and concerned about getting ganked while leading a bunch of packies around I would use teleport tiles from one house to the other so you can stay safe while moving.

6) Will I automatically gain massive amounts of fame and fortune by living in Magincia?
Ok, c'mon. You're not even trying to be serious now! :lick:
There is no guarantee that Magincia will be the next Luna at all. It's more likely to be a great RP community or community period, but anything is possible.

7) What benefits are there from having a "player run" town? And, how can I be in charge of it? That goes along with the question about having power.
Player run towns are often very strong communities. To run one you would mean that you know enough about them that you wouldn't have to ask this question! :lick::lick::lick:

8) Some of these plots actually look big enough to put a 18x18 house. Will the housing tool just not allow people to put anything bigger than a 15x15 in a spot?
On TC1 no plot would fit more than a 15x15 and some of those were challenging for the winner to place. Only enough room to place a 15x15 has been switched from "Housing is not allowed here" to "Housing is allowed here" so even if it looks as if you could fit bigger housing will not be allowed on area outside the intended 15x15.

9) IF this player run town is massively successful, what are the odds of doing another player run town in the future?
Well, I guess they'll put in on the list of things to do after they fix EC, High Seas, Imbuing, Garg Paper Dolls, etc... :lick::lick::lick:

The real question is:

Will the Black Rock Golems and Bane be your permanent next door neighbors!

I think he's referring to the Blackrock Golems in Magincia, seen mostly in Felucca but also in Trammel on some shards.

Sorry, he said Red Mobs. The Golems are black so I just figured he meant the other Reds.

The Teletile suggestion still holds.

Yep on re-reading his post your right. He was talking about the Golems. Heh.

Sorry, he might have referred to the bane chosen recruits then. Even bane dragons can be seen in Atlantic Felucca Magincia.

The names of some of the mobs are red.

My question is will the guard zone be activated in New Magincia? I could see why some people would want a house in a guard zone, more so in Felucca.
