I have been killing off Ogres, trolls, ettins that come my way while working LJ. I am at a point not that I get only a little of each fame and Karma from them. What would be good for a 80's swords/ 98 LJ to kill to raise fame? I only have 43 resist right now.

Perhaps you should try the black solens near Wind.
They dont hit too hard, are slow and melee only, give decent money and gems, fungis for the quests and will boost you to GM in no time (at least my new warrior get from 80 to GM sword/tactic fast with them). They also give decent fame/karma.

If u use a Soulseeker you dont even need to consecrate weapon as their weak resist is cold...

All in all, they very good to train melee.

Ok I made GM Swords tonight from the solens. I had stashed a 110 swords scroll I ate to celebrate. Now what do I do? I made Illustrious in the process and would like to see the next step of fame if I could. I need to raise Bush a bit more now it is at 93.0, tactics at 96.6, and Parry at 89.1. I could go to the yew pens and get the rest of parry fast.
I haven't been a big fan of dungeons so far as I have been playing solo. I hate the idea of having the mobs respawn in back of me or surrounding me and cutting off any escape. Are there any dungeons that are more suited for a solo style?

I love Despise when I'm training a new warrior. First I get my guy (or gal) up to around 65 by killing lizardmen on the stop level. Then I move down to the second level and kill the Earth Elementals and Ettins. Once I hit 85 or 90, I move to the bottom level and focus on the Ogre Lords. Ogre Lords will easily get your to "Lord" and you can go all the way to at least 110 or higher in Swords.

The nice thing about this route is none of these creatures are magic users, so you don't have to worry about that. There's also a quick exit and none of the creature hit very hard until you get to the Ogre Lord.

Most of the legacy dungeons (the ones named for the anti-virtues) are best suited for hunting in ones and twos. Outside of Hythloth and Destard's lower levels, there isn't much difficult for even a GM warrior.

That being said, I think you should try somewhere else. I have two suggestions in that area:

1. Out of the Honesty moongate in Ilshenar, out of the pass to the north and across the bridge to the east, there is a spawn of cyclopses, titans and ettin. If you're not comfortable with thicker spawns, this is a great place to get comfortable. And the cyclopses can get you all the way to legendary swords and pay for your scrolls. The problem there is the paragons. For the unprepared, they can cause a little bit of worry.

2. Troglodytes. With a swordsman who is carrying soul seeker, you can kill these thing faster than you can loot them, and the loot isn't half bad either.

3. Minotaurs in the Labyrinth. As you get more experienced handling the spawn and working with the terrain, the back of the labyrinth (the tormented minotaur champ) is a fun place to work your skills. The trick is getting there without getting killed by Rend, Pyre, a dozen reptalons or 4 drakes dropping on your head.

4. The citadel. Again, this is a place for a more advanced player, but at GM skill, you could survive in a couple of the spawn areas. You just have to know where to stand, where the trap-triggers are and when to run.

5. Fan Dancers. Levels 1 and 2 hold fan dancers and demons (mostly). It's easy to find a spawn of just one or two dancers and kill them over and over without worrying about extra bad guys behind you. They won't, however, bring you all the way to "Lord" status. The demons will.

6. Ice dungeon. If you have a fire based weapon, there are many things there that will bring you to lord status quickly. The popular favorites are Arctic Ogre Lords and Ice Fiends.

My personal favorite from that list is the cyclops/titan spawn. Just remember to bring a horse.

Not having a rune to Despise I elected to try the Cyclops out. I had fun just getting to the area from the moongate. Once in the pyramid area I met another player just leaving. He warned me about the paras overwhelming me. I stuck close to the tunnel and had a good time. I wasn't ready for the first titan that came very fast at me, but after that I was. I am so glad I had this soulseeker stashed until now to use. I was getting a good amount of both fame and karma plus gaining in Honor.
Unless things change like a group of paras ganking me constantly I will keeping fighting in this area. It offers me the open space I like and a steady spawn to keep me busy.
Thanks to those that offered advice. I will try the OL as soon as I can get into Despise to compare the two spawns.

i also like hunting in honesty. just don't stick around the moongate very long as the imps and gazers are all fond of casting.

i have a funny story there. i came through the gate last week and was immediately met by a cyclopian and titan both the para variety. Apparently someone was running for his life and they followed him there. Upon killing the titan i looted and found a virtue shield on its corpse. guess it accomplished its mission.

but your spot on, that's a good place to hunt with s. seeker to gain honor and such.
