here is what i know so far
1 if they spawn in a guard zone and you work them in th guard zone they poison you but for zero damage
1a exception to this is if for example you are at vrit farms in the guard zone but there is a invasion on then you can be damaged and poisoned
2 if you leave guard zone while poisoned for zero damage you begin to take full damage from poison
3 the best way so far to get them on you is drag there health bar up then while they are on screen and you are in war mode attack them till you get the little health bar under them then leave war mode and most times they will continue to attack you if they do this and you click on them to dye something there is a chance for them to teleport or run from you they seem to usualy teleport so if you can get them in a corner say like a mountain they will most times teleport as far as they can in a random direction if you have them in corner that cuts your odds down that they will teleport and run off screen i have dyed many many sets this way
4 they will change color but i believe this is on a timer because they all seem to change at almost the same time not sure what the time is yet or if maybe something triggers it
5 the rare colors are named (light olive ) for example other colors can be dyed with other means
6 the follow command can really help you here i use it all the time
