I think I am ready to delve into the factions concept. I am a complete noob with respect to factions. I want to join Council of Mages or True Brittannians. Can anyone assist me with this? Beginning with reasons to join one faction over the other. Thanks in advance.

Well CoM is a lonely faction right now, theres PvM, LEAN, and S&D in CoM, but S&D and LEAN is a one member guild and the guy in LEAN is quitting to join VaMp anyways. PvM went back to Baja, so they're slowly getting smaller here. Shadow Lord's consist of the whole VaMp guild. Minax has two guilds OAK and LOLz both who are rather small but LOLz are real good at what they do, havn't seen OAK in fel pvping yet. Then there's True Brittain's who mainly conists of G&L who is one of the larger faction guilds on Lake Austin but probably only a third as big as VaMp, but theres also @TW@ and TH4 in it, TH4 kill the other TB when they can and then @TW@ I really don't know much about them except they joined a day or two ago 
Thanks for the info S.W.A.T. I know quite a few in G&L and some in TH4 so I will probably check TB out. I guess I could take a one person guild into CoM and DOMINATE there :-D, but that is not my goal. Blah, After last night I realized I had to abbrivation wrong it's K4H which stands for Killers For Higher hehe, I found that out after there guildmaster raided my spawn like 3 times last night, , A*M is also going to start a faction guild and put them into TB since G&L are one of the guilds we're allied with to fight VaMp and LOLz, @TW@ ending up being lag's faction guild, lag are new to Lake Austin and come from Chessy =]

This is how the original post started: If you have NO HONOR.... join SL... I made a solo, underskilled thief raid on them.... died once, suit was insured came back to me no problem. Got out of loss went back and died, dropped entire suit... EVERY SINGLE PIECE and before you ask, yes, I am an experienced faction player, several million insurance in her bank ... yes several 100 thousand in gold, not checks and yes every piece was insured.
I went back and asked if I may have my suit back (a standard consideration between most faction players when something like this happens) to be told no. When asked why, I was told "you are the jerk stealing our sigils". I said, it is part of the game .... and was told, yes, we win...
This is where it all changed: I went to luna to try to find more armor, etc. and ran into one of the SL I thought had my armor. After a bit of bantering back and forth, he said he did not have my armor and go to yew gate to meet the player who did have it. Ok, that sounded like a trap to me but like he said, I was already naked and he even offered to give me insurance money. So being old, slow and trusting I went to yew gate where indeed I was given back everything but leggings (shadow dancers). Returned to Luna where player #1 (Saint) sent me back to yew gate to get the shadow dancers... at this time, I haven't received them as I didn't see the player he told me to meet.
My apologies again to Saint for suspecting him of keeping my armor and my thanks to Rohon for returning all but the shadow dancers. To the other player who has the dancers, if I may have them back, it would be appreciated. I will not assume the worst of you as Saint and Rohon proved my quick assumption to be completely wrong. Thank you Saint and Rohon for facilitating the return of my armor.

Nice post Tink'r Toyz. I won't join SL not because who is or is not there, but because as a roleplayer at heart, I want to see good triumph over evil, and it is my undrstanding that SL in the storyline favor the dark side over good. My chars must stand against such forces. :-D
